Inspiration Connecting with social media is great for mobile phones and computers, where it is an easy input system without touch screens and keyboards. But in AR, using the keyboard is tedious and time-consuming, and sending messages like a chat takes forever.
Also, most social media sites are full of distractions; it wouldn’t be great to connect with people without being distracted from the present moment, sometimes, people just want to have conversations on the go.
What it does Create and share voice-first content enhanced by AR elements with AR glasses like Orion, Vision Pro and Meta Quest. Imagine WhatsApp or Instagram, but without the photos and text, purely driven by voice messages. No Avatars or any distracting visuals or wired VR rooms but only relevant UI for the Audio.
How I Built It I started by working on the wireframe design on paper, getting the rough layout, and determining how things might look. Then, I moved to Figma to design the interface. I later Used AI to generate images and videos and combine them in After Effects for the video pitch.
Challenges I ran into I only got to Know about the XR challenge some days before it closed, so I only got 4 days to build everything. There was a lot of crunch time, but it was fun
Accomplishments that I'm proud of I am proud to see things differently; not focusing on mobile or desktop design helped me see how we might connect in the future.
What I learned Building for a Hackathon (This is my first Hackathon)
What's next for SpoutAR." I will continue working on it, then partner with a programming partner to focus solely on design. Then apply for Seed Funding
