StudyFinder prototype

Inspiration

We were inspired by our own personal experiences with Studying difficulties.

What it does

It accesses the Google Classroom API to compile assignments from Google Classroom to one webapp

How I built it

We programmed the entire project in html5, css3, and javascript, as well as Classroom API and json.

Challenges I ran into

We ran into issues while using Classroom API and unfortunately didn't complete the project on time.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are proud of our work for our first hackathon. It equally challenged us all and we persevered through it all.

What I learned

We learned fundamental concepts of using APIs, especially Google APIs

What's next for StudyFinder

StudyFinder will only get Better! It will use more Classroom API tools to properly compile the assignments and organize them based on time until test.

!!!!To run the website, make sure to run a python 3 http web server using the command: "python3 -m http.server 8000" in the terminal

I worked mostly on the front end, and since I wasn't competent beyond basic html, css, and js, this was a challenge. Thanks to the mentors and the internet, as well as my teammates, I was able to code a lot of the functionality in the UI of the webapp.

I worked hard on getting the API to work in the backend. Most of the probelms that we faced, Jacob and I worked out. These ranged from the API Keys to the scopes that were needed for authorizing functions. I also made the presentation slides and the pitch to the judges.

Jason Zhang
I worked mostly on the front end. I organised the layout of the page and what buttons have to exist on it. I also went through fixing errors.
