The inspiration came from my cousin. He was recovering from Stage 2 Blood Cancer, and was pretty depressed. He was frustrated with no one understand his struggles which are unique to Blood Cancer survivors. He needed to be connected to other people who had suffered from the same disease, but geography was a major inhibitor. I believe his recovery would have been much faster, if he was properly connected with someone.
We attempt to match two people for a therapist. This web app uses IBM Watson's API to match people with similar personality and demographics. The personality and demographics will be inputed by the therapist, and the app will determine if they are compatible or not.
We used IBM Watson's Personality Insights API for determining the compatibility. We extracted the data into a CSV file, which was in read fed to the other function to compare the relevant personality traits. If more than two personality traits match, the pair is determined to be compatible.
