Inspiration
Let us begin by defining the future of work, the workplace, and the workforce. These continue to emerge as part of the new normal. On a more specific level, one can see how remote working is evolving as a result of workplace transformation. As we emerge from crisis in the post-pandemic era, we will live in a hybrid world that embraces hybrid workplaces. The key to enterprise success in this environment is to leverage the power of skilled labor across geographic boundaries (which used to be a constraint prior to the pandemic) through evolving talent models. Similarly, for gig workers and talents, this has created a slew of opportunities for talents, including rural labor, to participate in business transformations. With marketplaces for skills picking pace and increasing commoditization and breaking work into gigs, the notion of full-time employment will become even more bleak in the coming years. One crucial technology that will facilitate end-to-end working in this Future of Work is undoubtedly blockchain and related technologies. It is encouraging to see mature discussions around use-cases of blockchain technologies evolve beyond the shadows of just one of their applications – the cryptocurrency. With Meta as building virtual worlds are focused on future of the internet. As per firms like Wall Street Bank and Goldman Sachs – Blockchain and Cryptocurrency will be at heart of digital and virtual worlds - as it will allow people to securely own digital items across different virtual world.
What it does
The goal is to create a marketplace platform that connects talent with more opportunities to shape more lives while also providing businesses with the reach and speed they require. This model is intended to extend beyond the traditional freelancer model to encompass talents and businesses of all sizes. This platform powered by NEAR blockchain will be critical to the success of multiple today's system integrators in remaining relevant and resilient in a future where hybrid (physical + remote) models will be the new normal for enterprises undergoing large-scale digital transformations. Blockchain could prove to be a blessing in such situations to make better and data-led talent decisions. The findings of this study reveal the truth behind hiring in a post pandemic world. Marketplace users would agree that some performance challenges and unpleasant separations could have been averted with robust background checks. Blockchain-backed technology allows employment history and qualifications including degrees and credentials to be verified by employers. Employers can save a lot of time and resources spent in background checks, checking each referral and deal better with the information asymmetry by using blockchain based solutions. Significant Characteristics

- Diverse Teams - Geographically Diverse Teams that work 24 hours a day
- Management of large enterprise program and projects
How we built it
Automation and hyper productivity are central tenets of the platform development methodology. On the QuickBase low-code no-code platform, we developed multiple workflows that include modules for collecting payments, adding and validating beneficiaries, disbursing individual/mass payouts, wallet-to-wallet transfer, recurring payouts at defined intervals, escrow feature, and foreign exchange support, as well as additional modules for project execution that cover the admin, originator, and work performers. Blockchain powered smart contracts to codify the defined rules on multiple system functions. This is where blockchain technology can make a huge difference – in essence, acting as a trusted source of truth for stakeholders and delivering a greater sense of data security for records. Payment Gateway API endpoints are integrated into the platform to enable the aforementioned payment capabilities - Collect, Disburse. Cryptocurrency support has been crucial to bring difference as governance token to stakeholders. Payment systems are vulnerable to financial crime. Integrating blockchain as core element in solution brings much needed trust and transparency. The low-code platform enabled rapid adaptation and innovation in response to the rapid pace of change in today's business environment. The decision to use low-code development enabled us to iterate on features more quickly and productively, providing us with the much-needed flexibility to expand, improve, and maintain business workflows. This resulted in the creation of a platform for Swift Work that is resilient on multiple levels - technology, operations, and experience - in order to meet market demand. The Payment Gateway API is at the heart of the platform, and integration was a breeze thanks to the self-contained documentation available on the Payment Gateway developer portal. Postman's available endpoints enabled parallel testing of workflows.
Challenges we ran into
Difficulties with integration between a low-code platform, NEAR blockchain and Payment Gateway API endpoints. This compelled us to think differently - we added another layer of abstraction, exposing coarse-grained Payment Gateway API end points that correspond to the workflow requirements deployed on IBM cloud.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Beyond the traditional marketplace model, an end-to-end marketplace platform is being developed to address the future needs of work, workforce, and workplace. The platform will be transformative for stakeholders, including larger enterprises that will be able to use Swift Work as the backbone of their project executions. For instance, the platform's integrated project management suites set it apart from competitors and provide a one-stop shop for projects of any size. Such a large-scale platform necessitates additional payment requirements, including cross-border payments and payouts, seamless real-time global payment coverage via multiple channels, including cards, bank transfers, e-wallets, and cash, as well as core security and fraud prevention. All of this has been accomplished through the use of Payment Gateway's features, smart contracts and backed by solid foundation of NEAR. Real-time visibility into progress, tasks, time sheets, expenses, and budgets, as well as a suite of reports and dashboards, are all included in the project management features. Transparent future of work enabled by Blockchain. Additionally, QuickBase has strengthened its security posture by obtaining stringent compliance certifications and attestations, including SOC 1 / SOC 2, HIPAA, EU-US Privacy Shield, and DFARS. Swift Work is integrated with Salesforce service cloud to handle Escrow payments and failed payments.
