Inspiration

Every person on the planet faces problems online simply trying to browse the web: whether for personal or academic pursuits. The whole point of the internet was to speed up the transfer of information--and move past from the days of the library. Today, however, many find themselves wasting tons of time on irrelevant and misinformation websites, and this longer time spent in a more unknown medium leaves everyone open to give their private data over time to unknown trackers and unwanted advertisement companies. Our goal? Simple. We want to take the bull away from information transfer and help preserve private data while we're at it.

What it does

Our extension delivers ratings of a website based on public reviews (from the community) and tells the consumer about the website's relevancy by giving them several categories of the website legitimacy. The added plus point is that the extension provides you with a list of some websites having good user reviews and relevant data. This extension also keeps your data private and decreases website loading time.

How we built it

We built it using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and JSON. We used HTML for its front-end development and other languages for the back-end development.

Challenges we ran into

We had a lot of challenges like compatibility of the code for the project with the algorithm needed to sustain the API.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were proud of our well-organized roadmap and our ability to work as a team quickly.

What we learned

We learned that a group is like a blessing and that any error or problem can be fixed if we work and think as a team.

What's next for BullSite

There were certain aspects in which we took a lot of time solely for the purpose of perfection and detailing which compromised the vitality of our tests in the real world, so we would be looking forward to implementing our extension in real life and letting people use it for free, as people would use it, our customer database would increase after which we would be looking to patent our technology.
