Inspiration

The inspiration behind TickeX stems from the numerous challenges that have plagued the digital landscape of ticketing for years. Frauds, counterfeit tickets, high secondary market prices, and a lack of transparency have left both event organizers and ticket buyers apprehensive. We recognized the need for a solution that would ensure authenticity, transparency, and interconnectedness in the ticketing industry, and thus TickeX was born.

What it does

TickeX is a groundbreaking platform that revolutionizes ticketing by combining blockchain technology, non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and cross-chain capabilities. It serves as a global stage where users can effortlessly organize events or purchase tickets to a wide range of experiences. Each ticket on TickeX is represented as a unique NFT, holding not just a seat number but also a wealth of data and metadata.

For event organizers, TickeX provides a user-friendly interface to create event cards, input vital details such as event name, date, location, and more. These event cards are then transformed into NFT tickets, complete with event-specific information, image URLs, prices, and details about the sender and receiver.

Attendees can explore the available event cards, purchase NFT tickets, and truly own them. Moreover, TickeX allows seamless ticket resale, enabling users to transfer ownership and associated data effortlessly.

The true innovation lies in the integration of cross-chain technology. By leveraging the power of Axelar, TickeX offers users the flexibility to buy NFT tickets using any currency or token supported by the Axelar network, providing a truly inclusive and democratized platform.

How we built it

Typescript app with Axelar. Used callContract for sending cross-chain messages and tokens.

Challenges we ran into

TickeX was built using a combination of cutting-edge technologies. The foundation of the platform is built on blockchain, providing the security, transparency, and immutability necessary for a trustworthy ticketing ecosystem. The integration of NFTs ensures the uniqueness and authenticity of each ticket, elevating the ticketing experience for both organizers and attendees.

To enable cross-chain capabilities, we partnered with Axelar, leveraging their robust infrastructure to facilitate seamless transactions and enable users to purchase NFT tickets with various currencies or tokens.

The development process involved a collaborative effort from our talented team of engineers, designers, and blockchain experts. Through meticulous planning, rigorous coding, and iterative testing, we crafted TickeX into a robust and user-friendly platform.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building TickeX came with its fair share of challenges. Our entire team is completely new to blockchain and Web3. There was quite a steep learning curve and a lot of confusion during the journey, but we loved the challenge and ended up building something we're proud of.

What we learned

Not only did we learn the code that runs blockchain, but we also learned a lot about the technology as a whole and its value in real-world applications.

TickeX is just the beginning of our mission to transform the ticketing industry. In the future, we plan to expand our platform's capabilities, integrating more blockchain networks and cross-chain solutions to offer even broader currency support.
