Inspiration
My inspiration came from watching Conspiracy Theorists talking about, "The Mandela Effect" on social media. Real life changes in the world that has affected a large mass of people, who remembers things differently than they are today. Until a year ago, I never paid attention to these slightly differences that has affected so many people. Until, I realized that I am one of those large mass of people who remembers things differently. I now see things and be like, "Nah; that's not right", thinking to myself' @When did they change that?" Lol 😂. It inspired me; because it taught me that my memory is not as good as I thought it was. It has me over here thinking that my mind is playing tricks on me, Lol 😂. Anyway I thought 💭, The Mandela Effect would make an awesome and fun memory game.
What it does
Welcome to The Multiverse! Timeline Jump is a Memory Game based on The Mandela Effect. It is an interactive game that challenges a person's memory. Timeline Jump not only challenges a person's memory; it allows them to pay attention to the smallest details of the changes they will face in an alternate universe. A world that is slightly different but the same.
How we built it
Using Primitive within Meta Horizon Worlds. Built With: *English *Sub-D Shapes and Assets *Trigger Gizmos *Text Gizmos *Player Spawn Point Gizmos *NPC Gizmos *Custom UI Panels *Code Block Scripting
Challenges we ran into
This is the first game I have ever created; so the first challenge for me was trying to figure out how to create and build a game that is engaging and accessible to mobile users. Also being able to create a game that will keep players interested and wanting to continue to revisit the game. A game they would want to invite their friends to come with them and enjoy playing the game as well. Another challenge was figuring out a playable method for mobile users to use to answer the game questions. The biggest challenge was getting the game completed and submitted before the entry deadline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Natura: This was my very first game that I created and built in Meta Horizon Worlds that is also accessible to mobile users. So I am very proud of being able to bring my vision to life with the much appreciated help of my teammate Wolf.
*Wolf: Game Map Layout
What we learned
*We Learned how to Create and Build a Game for both VR and Mobile Users.
- NPC Creation This was a huge learning experience for us and some of it was challenging, but we did it. In all it was an educational experience and a fun project for us to work on.
What's next for Timeline Jump
*Refinement and Improvements of game mechanics.
*Making Timeline Jump accessible to other languages and for people who cannot read.
