TrustPay: Revolutionising Digital Payments for Accessibility, Security, and Transparency
Problem Statement: How can new technologies in digital wallets enable new and trustworthy user experiences?
Abstract: TrustPay is a digital payment solution aimed at addressing the vulnerabilities of QR code-based e-payments, especially for digitally-underserved communities. Unlike conventional methods where customers scan vendor QR codes, TrustPay empowers users to generate their custom QR codes, representing the desired payment amount. Vendors then scan these unique QR codes for secure fund transfers. This innovative approach enhances accessibility, user-friendliness, security, and transaction transparency.
Key Features:
Enhanced Accessibility: TrustPay prioritizes user-friendliness, making it ideal for elderly users and digitally underserved communities. Large UI elements and voice recognition technology facilitate easy navigation and interaction.
User Ownership of QR Codes: Users generate their QR codes, mirroring real-life ownership of money. TrustPay's QR codes represent digital cash, fostering trust, especially among less digitally-savvy individuals.
Security: Each QR code expires in 5 minutes, reducing the risk of fraudulent activity. Dynamic QR code generation adds an extra layer of security, mitigating the manipulation of codes by malicious actors.
Transparency: TrustPay's unique approach eliminates concerns of arbitrary charges by vendors, promoting trust among users. It provides a clear visual representation of digital money, enhancing understanding and confidence in digital payments.
Scalability:
To ensure scalability, TrustPay deploys its frontend on Vercel's cloud platform and leverages AWS Elastic Load Balancing and Auto Scaling Groups for EC2 in the backend. This infrastructure ensures the ability to scale in and out efficiently to meet evolving demands.
TrustPay aims to create a more inclusive, secure, and transparent digital payment ecosystem for users of all backgrounds, driving the future of e-wallets with its commitment to accessibility, security, and user-friendliness.
