Saving the Environment and YOU Money

Commuting is a great solution to help the environment around us in endless ways.

The Team

Our team consists of two San Francisco State University students. One of the members lives in San Jose and is forced to commute 5 days a week. SFSU being a school where a vast amount of the population commutes from places that are cheaper to live have to drive as well.

The Problem

We are solving the simple problem of getting cars off the road by giving commuters the resource to carpool with other students.

This application takes data such as where you commute from and allows you to enter your weekly schedule. Our algorithm will calculate the best possible match based on times people are leaving and where they live. The UniRide algorithm is designed to be able to match you with a ride everyday of the week, and because SFSU is on a semester system you will have a ride for the whole semester. This application is free to use and will help get a large amount of the cars off the road, saving money for app users and also helping keep the toxic chemicals out of our beautiful bay area.
