What it does

Provides a convenient and secure way for students to request and offer rides to and from campus

Discount parking rates at University. Rewards system through collaboration with participating on-campus businesses/services

How we built it

By specifying the functional and non-functional requirements of the system and supplementing them with use cases and system diagrams. The website was built using Wix.

Having a demonstratable product. Ensuring completeness and disjointness in the requirements

As a team we decided to use an engineering approach starting from the requirements document, use cases, high-level system architecture, system model diagrams, and a business model. Since we were constrained by time we all worked together on every part of the system. My focus was on forming the requirements, making the use cases and diagrams and designing the system model. I designed the system architecture components to support the business model, and integrate with existing external services (e.g. York University).

The majority of my effort went towards conceiving and articulating precise system requirements, while forming a high level overview of the system and being able to convey it and elaborate on it. Throughout the design process I constantly maintained a high level of communication with my team which allowed me to fine tune my ideas and redirect them to meet new system goals or new system limitations alike.

Yash Chauhan
We made the mutual decision to take an entrepreneurial approach to our project prioritizing focus on identifying accessible markets, technological capabilities and sure-proof methodologies. The bulk of our engineering efforts went into planning approachable construction methods for our eventual product build. I personally worked on creation of our website and web design along with assessing competitor markets and producing a financially stable pricing model.
