Inspiration
We have noticed that the Ram Pantries are often not full, and with this knowledge, we wanted to implement a solution that would help fix this for current and future students.
What it does
Our app allows restaurants, grocery stores, and community members to list any excess food they have on the app so it can be picked up and distributed at Ram Pantry. In addition, it also shows drivers what they need to pick up and provides them with an optimized route to get there.
How we built it
We built this project with Node.js and React for the front end with a Google Maps API, using Java for the back end.
Challenges we ran into
Completing the project in the allotted time frame Connecting our front and back end
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of getting React to work, our speed, and the fact that our website has real and important implications for our community.
What we learned
Node.js, Google Maps API, React, Time Management, OBS
