Vespucci

Description

For this year's HackGT, we proudly present to you Vespucci. Named after the famous Italian Explorer, our web application seeks to figure out where the place to go is wherever you go, whenever is convenient for you. Whether you're traveling, passing by an unfamiliar city, or just have a little extra free time, you can immediately see what's happening in your local community and around the world and truly discover the uncharted. By using Foursquare, Twitter, and Instagram, we gather analytics on what locations in your local community are currently in a frenzy of activity and deliver a map-view with circles that pinpoint social media active locations in your local community (the size of the circles centering one location is proportional to the amount of hype). When these points are selected by the user, they expand into a bubble allowing you to view details of the event, pictures, and even give you directions to every single hotspot!
