VFD-Alert is a tool for volunteer fire departments to replace outdated pagers with smartphones and SMS. The volunteers are all contacted with the call description location of the incident using the Twilio API. Those who respond to the call will soon have the option of receiving a link for turn-by-turn directions through Google Maps.
