Inspiration

Our project, "Volontariato," is a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives and the transformative potential of technology. The seed of inspiration for Volontariato was planted by stories of local communities. Driven by a desire to make a difference, we envisioned a digital platform that would empower travelers to explore the world with purpose and compassion.

What it does

Volontariato bridges the gap between accommodation planning and volunteering opportunities worldwide. It empowers travelers to find meaningful volunteering opportunities while facilitating accommodation planning in various destinations.

How we built it

We built Volontariato using a combination of cutting-edge technologies, including:

  • Frontend: HTML, Tailwind, JavaScript, React.js
  • Backend: Node.js
  • Database: MongoDB Atlas for storing accommodation and volunteering data
  • API Integration: We leveraged third-party APIs such as TripAdvisor for accommodation listings and Soup API for volunteering opportunities.

Our iterative development process involved extensive user testing, feedback collection, and continuous refinement, ensuring that Volontariato delivers a seamless and intuitive experience for travelers and volunteers alike.

Challenges we ran into
