Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to, in 24 hours, implement an AWS EC2 Apache server, set up a postgressql database, build a full website, handle user input with Ajax, with little to no experience in any of these areas.

I worked with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Jquery to build parts of the front end interface.

Rosanne Hu
I worked full-stack for the project, helping with Python Flask on back end and JavaScript on the front end. I built functions for linking the server with the database and the web app to call and update data, as well as focusing on the pairing and voting algorithm for the app. Finally, I was heavily involved in front end css and the design of the web app.

Kevin Zhang
I worked with Flask to build the interactive webpages, and used jinga to template parts of the site. I also built a number of the backend functions and algorithms to process the database, pairings, and rankings.

IanOlin
I worked primarily on backend infrastructure and on connecting the other team members' parts of the project. I set up AWS instances, configured an Apache server over SSH, and set up a PostgreSQL database to handle our data. I also configured REST endpoints within Flask, programmed AJAX calls to exchange info with the database, and used jQuery to integrate client-side information and interaction with the algorithms and functions my team members created.

What We've got going on

Our website is running on an Apache server in an AWS EC2 instance. We build it in python using flask. From front end functionality we used Javascript. We used a combination of Bootstrap and our own CSS and HTML 5 to build the front end.

What's Next for this Project?

Our project is build as a highly extensible framework. In the future we'd like to extend the project to include user groups and accounts. We'd also like to update the css and styling - that was more of a last minute thing, we spent most of our time working on the technical aspects.
