Inspiration

My teammate and I share a passion for winter, and that is why we created Winter Wellness. Recognizing that the colder months often lead to a combination of laziness and discomfort, we were motivated to do something good. During brainstorming, together we came up with winter fitness exercises and safety tips to help people not only stay active during this season but also make sure that they are safe.

What it does

WinterHack is a website that helps you with winter stuff. You can check the weather for different places and get safety tips for cold weather. There's also a fitness challenge with exercises for the winter. The site has a cool winter theme with snowflake animations. Whether you want to know the weather, stay safe, or stay active, WinterHack is here for all your winter needs.

How we built it

We built our project in Replit, using HTML, CSS and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

We faced some challenges while working on WinterHack, particularly with the weather API integration and creating smooth snowflake animations. Getting accurate and up-to-date weather information posed some hurdles, and ensuring the seamless display of animated snowflakes required fine-tuning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how our website turned out and of successfully integrating a responsive and user-friendly weather API, allowing users to access real-time weather information.

What we learned

During the creation of WinterHack, we picked up new skills in JavaScript. We improved our understanding of this coding language, getting better at managing interactive features on the website.

What's next for Winter Wellness

We hope to allow users to share their fitness achievements, safety tips, or winter experiences. Create a community space where users can engage with each other.
