Inspiration
We love cats and we love wizards! But above all, we love a cool game with an interesting concept. For our game, Wizard Cats, we wanted to explore the intersection between fighting games and drawing games.
What it does
Players face off in a 1v1 duel, where the main gimmick is the spell-drawing feature. By drawing different symbols with their mouse, players can cast spells to do a variety of actions.
How we built it
Wizard Cats was built using Phaser 3 and Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
Learning and bugs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of the cutesy presentation and everything we managed to finish. Although our final product is by no means purrfect, we managed to overcome quite a few hurdles and learn a ton along the way.
What we learned
As a team with no experience using Phaser or Firebase before, not only did we learn how to utilize both of these technologies, but also how to use both simultaneously in an arcade-style real-time web game.
What's next for Wizard Cats
In the future, Wizard Cats plans to implement more spells and unique drawing related features, such as drawing platforms. Additionally, Wizard Cats plans to continue to improve its user experience through improved visuals and animations.
