Thanksgiving Day

Well Thanksgiving day is over but not forgotten!

We had the opportunity of going to Nephi to spend Thanksgiving with my Aunt and Uncle. They have always been a special part of my life. Thanks Beth and Jim for having my family for Thanksgiving. We had a wonderful dinner and had almost all of our kids there. It was fun to have Leann and Mason with us!!!!! Mason is a joy to be around. The trip to Nephi was an eye opener. Grandpa (Dennis) and Mason sat in the back seat and watched "Cars". I would never have believed that a movie could keep someone so entertained and I am not just talking about Grandpa. Mason watched that whole movie. He also knows most of the dialog, I think he watches it often.

Allen, Wayne, Jessica and the boys met us there. I was so glad to see them!!! I love getting the kids together. It was a great surprise to have Jessica, Tylor and Taylor there. It is fun to get to know them. We were sorry that Jeremy and Matt could not make it but were thankful for those that did.

Now that Thanksgiving is over I guess it is time to concentrate on Christmas.

Ready or not here it comes!

Anniversary

Wow, we have been married for a long time and looking forward to many more. We have gone from raising four wonderful children to being on our own. It has been different to have a home all to ourselves. Sometimes, that is nice especially when you can go a week without vacuuming, laundry, and picking up messes (course that changes if Mason comes over, he likes to take everything out and then the house looks like a whirlwind hit).Dennis and I have gone through good and bad times in the last 32 years. Mostly good!!!! We have lived in Provo, San Diego, Provo, West Valley, South Jordan and now St. George. We love St. George it really feels like home. We just wish ALL of our family was here. We have Jeremy and Leann in St. George and Allen and Wayne still in West Valley. Thank goodness they aren’t too far. I really enjoy when we get the whole family together! (This doesn’t happen often enough)!Dennis and I love to travel. We have had the opportunity to do some in the last 32 years. We have been to Hawaii, Germany, France, England, Alaska, Mexico, Washington DC, New York, Oregon, California, all of the church sites back east, Florida, Arizona, Ohio, Texas, St. Louis, and the Bahamas. There have been others places we have driven though but can’t remember all of them. We still have the goal of returning to Chile where Dennis served his mission, also we would like to go to many more places. It just isn’t going to happen for awhile yet.We have been called to serve in the St. George Temple. This has really been a blessing in our lives. We have had some wonderful experiences and have seen miracles in our family. We are grateful for the testimonies that we have for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and for the knowledge that we have in eternal life.

Family Vacation

We just spent a wonderful week with our boys in California. What a fun time we had just being lazy and enjoying the weather and the company. We started our vacation with Wayne and Allen picking up a van in Nephi. How nice it is to have relatives that will loan you a vehicle to travel in for comfort. It was so nice, everyone had their own bench to sit on. We traveled in comfort!!!! The boys arrived late Friday night.
Saturday we had some family pictures done. That is always a trip to get everyone in the mood for pictures. We had a few on them turn out decent, unfortunately they look just like us. After the pictures, we all went to breakfast. We finished our packing and got ready for the road trip. It was fun to be easy going and travel as carefree as we wanted. We stopped in Vegas and had dinner at a Mexican restaurant. We stayed Saturday night in Primm Nevada. Dennis, Allen, Wayne and I rode the Buffalo Bills roller coaster. That is quite the ride!!!! Wayne thought Dennis was having a heart attack when in fact Dennis was just trying to find his glasses that he had lost out of his pocket when the bump knocked the wind out of him. Scared Wayne but we had a good laugh.
The next day we headed to San Clemente California where we had a condo. After scoping out the beach we had dinner and enjoyed the evening.
Monday we spent the day exploring the town, pier, and the beach of San Clemente. It was very clean and we had it mostly to ourselves. The weather was a little cloudy and not as warm as we would have liked, but that changed after the next few days.
Tuesday we took off and went to Universal Studios. Not as fun as the one in Florida, but it was fun because of the company I was with.
Wednesday Jeremy, Allen, Wayne and I spent the whole day on the beach. The boys did a little boggie boarding, and some wave jumping. We saw dolphins not far off shore, scared me at first but the boys assured me that they weren’t sharks.
Thursday we were on the road again to San Diego, we went to Sea World. This day was another hot one!!! We went to all the shows, ate a wonderful lunch and ended the day with a water ride that got us drenched. We left the park wet. We then drove to National City to show the boys where their grandma is buried. We had not had the opportunity to visit since they were younger.
Friday we went back to San Diego. Dennis and I attended a session at the San Diego Temple. What a beautiful Temple that is. While we were there the boys visited a few of the beached in San Diego area. When they picked us up we went to old town for lunch. We did a little site seeing of the downtown area and the Coronado area and then headed back to the condo in San Clemente.
Saturday, the end of the vacation. Back up and head home. This was a great opportunity for Dennis and I to spend some quality time with the boys. I am so grateful that we did this and look forward to the next time. I hope Leann and family will have the chance to join us sometime! We missed not having all the kids with us.
