Stefan Fuchs
“I purchased your plugin because I wanted to use it to convert a v1 site to v2. That worked very well!”
What can GB Extras do for you?
Convert v1 Blocks to v2 (Experimental)
Converting Version 1.x blocks is time-consuming. With a convenient transform command, you can convert all blocks on a page at once.
Convert All Paragraphs to Text Blocks
This useful command converts all core paragraphs into the GenerateBlocks text block, allowing you to apply any styling quickly.
Convert All Core Headings to Heading Blocks
This useful command converts all core headings into the GenerateBlocks heading block, allowing you to apply any styling quickly.
Show Container and Grid Outlines
This useful command shows an outline of all Container and Grid blocks. Version 1 blocks are a different color than Version 2 blocks, so you can quickly spot the difference.
Regenerate CSS Files Command
This useful command regenerates all CSS files generated by GenerateBlocks. This command is available in the admin panel and the frontend (if enabled).
Generate new Unique IDs with a click to solve style conflicts
If you copy or duplicate a lot of blocks using GenerateBlocks, you’ll inevitably run into style conflicts where changing one block changes another. This allows you to generate new Unique IDs for a block and all its children.
Display Both v1 and v2 Blocks With Custom Labels
Display the 1.x blocks alongside the 2.x blocks, and set up custom labels to distinguish them.
Add Post Type Support
GenerateBlocks styles can be tricky, especially for custom post types. This allows you to select which post types to enable GenerateBlocks on so it can generate styles.
Wrap Multiple Blocks in a Container
GenerateBlocks can wrap its own blocks, but not when you’ve selected multiple unrelated blocks. This handy shortcut allows you to wrap any group of blocks in a container.
Unwrap Containers
With just a few clicks, unwrap v1 and v2 containers. This can be useful for transferring the contents of a container into another one, then unwrapping the contents.
Transform the Group Block to a Container
Allow the Group block to be converted to a Container block. Converting will take all the group’s internal blocks and wrap them in a Container block.
Transform the Shape Block to a Link or Button
The Shape block by itself doesn’t offer much, but now you can transform it to a link via the contextual menu, or to a button via a block transform.
Use Markdown to Insert the Text Block
Use Markdown to insert the Text block as a heading easily. This is a helpful shortcut.
Show Adobe and Google Fonts in GenerateBlocks
Compatible with the free Adobe Fonts plugin, show Adobe fonts inside GenerateBlocks. If you’re using the Blocksy theme, show Adobe and local Google fonts inside GenerateBlocks.
Set the Admin Bar Menu
Change the overlay menu to the full GenerateBlocks menu, or hide it entirely.
Show a Command Palette on the Frontend
The command palette is in its infancy, but there are already some useful shortcuts on the front-end, such as site search. The Renegerate CSS shortcut is helpful from the frontend.
Frequently Asked Questions
Please use the one-site license below for a trial version. You can upgrade later. Limit one per customer.
GenerateBlocks has long had a major flaw that involves copying and duplicating blocks. The Pattern Importer, when used, will take the pattern you paste in and generate unique ids for all the blocks in the pattern.
In addition, any images found in the pattern will be moved to the new site where it is being used. This allows you to copy images from patterns with ease from production to local or even between two host
The 5-site license covers one customer for five sites indefinitely. You are welcome to stay on the current plan and do not have to do anything further. The 5-site plan (free plan) was discontinued due to the increased complexity and development of supporting GB 1.x and 2.x blocks and honoring feature requests.
