New Pictures

Well, the last time I posted, Kendee had been to the doctor. This time, both kids have been. There are both doing well and each got a flu shot. Daxton had nothing but praise for the doctor. He kept telling me "Mom, he is a good doctor." Then the doctor gave him a shot, to which Daxton exclaimed, "Hey, that guy hurt me." I haven't heard anything about the doctor or "that guy" since. Daxton is in the "WHY" stage of life. Everything has to be explained. I told him that the doctor had put some medicine in his leg so that he wouldn't get sick. So, now he tells everyone, "I have medicine go down in my leg, it hurt a little bit." Kendee was awesome, she only cried for a minute and then just stared at Daxton while he continued to cry. (just a side note, Daxton would not take off his socks. He needed them.)
ImageThis picture is for my sister Lindsay, in honor of the bread feeding days! Daxton loves to feed Kendee and is always trying to reach her while she is in her high chair to feed her some "treats." He is always saying," Mom, I give her two - ones."ImageTonight after family night, we went up in the attic and built a fortress. Daxton made us all sit in there and be quiet because he could see an algagar (alligator), Kendee was getting in a lot of trouble because she kept yelling and clapping.

ImageHere are just some cute pictures of the kids.

A Fun Day!

Weight : 14 lbs. 8 oz.  (70th percentile)
Length: 24.25 inches (52nd percentile)

She is growing so much, and is such a cute and happy baby.  She loves to watch Daxton play and he is always wanting her to be a part of the fun.  He is constantly yelling "watch me, kennee."  She loves to look around is starting to really like playing with toys.  We are so glad she is a part of our family!
ImageToday was a fun day!  The weather was really nice so we spent a lot of the day outside. Daxton helped me water our flowers.  We got these hanging pots in Amish country and I love them! Daxton loves to help me water them and wanted to bring the watering can everywhere with us.  In the picture, he is holding some strawberries we picked from our plants in the front yard.  Whenever we go outside he tells me "wait 'til strawberries red mom."  Today we found some red ones and ate them.  They were so sour!

Since the weather was so nice and Kendee was still sleeping Daxton and I decided to have a picnic on the porch.  His favorite part of the lunch were the pickles.  He wants pickles all the time.  When it was time to clean up lunch, he went in the house and said, "come here food."  I sure wish clean up worked that way.  He really was a good helper and brought in his dishes and said, "mom, I sit these right here."  He is so much fun.
ImageAfter the kids woke up from their naps, we decided to walk up the street to the mail box and mail a letter for Doug.  Daxton was so excited to mail the letter, he called it his " 'pecial letter."  He is also really big into baseball right now, so he had to take Doug's mitt with him on the walk.  He kept it on for a long time and only took it off when a nice lady offered him a strawberry from her garden.  Daxton picked a strawberry and held it the entire walk.  He was so excited to wash it and eat it.   Kendee loved the walk as well.  She got to ride in the big stroller for the first time (not in the car seat).  I propped her up some and she was really good the entire time.  She just looked around and talked.  Her and Daxton had quite the conversation, so I asked Daxton what she was saying he told me, "Kennee just say GAWAHHH."

When we got home Daxton and I sat on the steps and colored, while Kendee talked and smiled.  I showed Daxton how put a leaf under a paper and color over it to make a leaf print.  He thought it was neat for a while and then just wanted to draw "swakes" or snakes.

Image
After dinner I gave Daxton and Doug hair-cuts.  Daxton was a little upset that he had to take off his lizard shirt but when we promised him he could put it back on he was okay.  He must have thought the hair-cut was okay because before he went to bed he told me "mom, I lika hair."

Giraffes in the Yard

Today I was upstairs putting away some laundry while Daxton was playing and Kendee was just hanging out in her swing.  I could hear a strange noise so I went to see what Daxton was doing.  I saw him down hitting the blinds, trying to see out the window.  I asked him what he was doing and he told me "giraffes." So I asked him where the giraffes were and he pointed out the window and said "outside."  He also told me that there were two giraffes a
nd that they were just "hanging out."  It was so funny.  All day we had to go and check on the giraffes and say hi to them.  Sometimes there were other animals.  We got to see some zebras, noccers (rhinos), and tigers.  It was quite the adventure.

Here is Daxton looking through his binoculars.

Checking to make sure the giraffes were still there.

ImageKendee was so good to just fall asleep in her swing.  Notice the headband, when she woke up it served as a great binkie.  She just kept sucking on it and was so mad when I pulled it out of her mouth.

Another funny thing about Daxton is his new phrase.  He always asks "You hearing me."  He says it to everyone and everything.  I hear it all day every day.  Most the time I am "hearing him,"  but he sure does a good job at making sure he has my attention.

The Biggest News

The biggest change in our household since the last post would have to be the arrival of our little girl.

Kendee Corry
2 - 08- 09
Weight: 7 lbs. 5oz.
Height: 19 1/4 in.

She is super cute and is just starting to wake up so I will have to come back to this later, however, I will post a picture since I am sure you want to see her.  That is if anyone checks this thing anymore!

Image
She is already starting to hold her head up.  Crazy how fast time flies!

ImageThis one should go first, but I don't have to time to fix it right now.  She is just hanging out with the quilts from her Grandma's.  (The pink one is from Grandma Corry and the green/bug one is from Grandma Schmutz).

Halloween NO More

So I have made my way back to the world of blogging.  I have decided that I cannot possibly try and catch up since Halloween so I am just going to jump back in.  We will see how long this lasts.  Ha Ha

Pink!

Image So, as usual, I have been awful at keeping up with the blogging and we have some big news to share. Most of you have probably heard from one source or another, but we are excited to say that we are going to have a BABY GIRL in February. The actual due date is February 12, 2009! We are super excited! Daxton is probably the most excited because he thinks that the baby is a "puppy." I don't know for sure how he came to believe that, but he is in for a shock if we can't explain it to him better by February!

Halloween - A little late!

As you can tell, this year Daxton was a lion. He hated getting into his costume, but once we got it on he liked it and was really cute in it. He would also "roar" like a lion for Doug and I, but got shy when we tried to show it off to our friends.
Image

We took him trick-or-treating to a few houses around our neighborhood and then drove over to some of our friends houses. We had a lot of fun and Daxton really liked going up to the doors and saying "knock knock" while hitting the door with his little fist. He was a little shy about taking the candy and would just sit and look at it all until Doug or I took one and gave it to him. That actually turned out to be kind of nice, because we could pick out the "good" treats.

ImageHere is all the loot of the night. He came home and kept saying "treat, treat!" Then he proceeded to dump his own bucket out on the floor and look at all the candy. Image
Here is Daxton the next day at our ward trunk-or-treat. Notice the lack of face paint, he had a little rash from the night before so we had to leave it off. He had a great day getting more candy! Image
