Gotchipus, in one line

Gotchipus is the first AI-native MUD on Base. Beacon World is the place. Lighthaven is the town. Beacons are the NFTs you carry in. Gotchipus is the soul that wakes up when you summon one.

What that actually means

Three commitments, not a feature list:
  • Text is the medium. No graphics arms race. Attention budget goes into world, character, and consequence.
  • LLMs are the narrative engine. Every NPC reasons in real time. Conversations are not scripted; they are generated against the world state right now. Content does not deplete because it is not pre-written.
  • The chain is the backbone. What you did, who you know, what you earned, what you broke — all of it persists on-chain. None of it is faked client-side.
Gotchipus is what happens when those three commitments meet companion-NFT design. You do not “own” a Gotchipus the way you own a jpeg. You raise one — through conversation, through time spent in Beacon World, through choices that the world remembers.

Five capabilities, one world

The project has been building these for a year and a half. They were features once. They are now the working parts of a single living place:
CapabilityWhat it does inside Beacon World
Pet raisingThe day-to-day life you share with your Gotchipus — soul, kinship, mood, growth
Token-Bound AccountEvery Gotchipus and every resident NPC has its own on-chain wallet
WearablesGear that shapes how you appear in the world and how the world treats you
AI interactionNot a chatbot — the way every NPC and every Gotchipus speaks and decides
Relationship systemPer-pair rapport, gossip, durable consequences
The migration to Base is also when these stop being separate menus and start working as one place.

What you do

You enter Lighthaven as someone unfamiliar. You meet residents who have their own lives and their own opinions. You summon a Gotchipus — its faction, traits, and DNA settle in that moment. You pet it and talk to it; it grows; it develops a personality that lives on-chain alongside the NFT. You return. The shopkeeper remembers you. The Gotchipus you raised has become someone — recognizable to neighbors, with friendships and small grudges of its own. Time spent in Beacon World accumulates into something other players can see. If the Gotchipus changes hands, the new owner does not get a blank slate. They get the character you raised.

Why on Base

Base is dense with tools — Aerodrome, Uniswap V3, Coinbase smart wallet flow, distribution. What it does not have yet is a persistent AI-native social layer where players inhabit a world rather than transact through it. That is the gap Beacon World is built to close. The chain that wins consumer crypto will not be the one with the cheapest swaps. It will be the one that hosts the first true persistent AI-native world. We are betting that is Base.

Base does not lack tools. It lacks a world with a soul.
