The world produces over 2 billlion tonnes of municipal solid waste each year, and is expected to produce nearly 4 billion tonnes by 2050. This waste is largely underutilized as at least 33% is openly dumped or incinerated, leading to significant GHG emissions, loss of value, and increasing health and environmental concerns.

DOPS Recycling Technologies has developed and patented the Direct Carbon Immobilization (DCI™) technology. DCI is a recycling process that enables efficient conversion of diverse waste streams into materials such as syngas, minerals, metals, and sequestered carbon, while emitting little to no greenhouse gasses. This allows us to unlock new value from materials that would otherwise be lost.

How it works

Waste is processed at high temperature in an oxygen-free reactor to break hydrocarbons down into syngas. The remaining solids retain clean carbon and separable minerals and metals. This process allows for continuous 24/7 operation for industrial deployment.
