Les Mis

Andrew was in a musical this past spring....it wasnt just ANY musical, it was the best musical of all time and Andrew's class performed it spectaculary!  I was so impressed.  They had so much talent and I loved it so much.  The songs are still stuck in my head, daily!

I'm going to rank my favorite songs from the show, but even though some are at the bottom of the list, I still enjoyed them ALL!

















1. Do You Hear the People Sing...except Andrew said the teacher cut one of his solos and let everyone sing it together the last three shows, so that makes me sad and mad, but this is my favorite song in the whole show!

2.  One More Day!  I have memories of watching Andrew's class do a flash mob at a school rally, doing it at the Freshmen Orientation for the freshmen parents, and doing it at the Downtown Parade, but this is a song I always want to join in and sing all the parts in all the different characters voices, which is impossible, but Andrew does pretty good at it when we are in the car together!

3. On My Own.  Just WOW,

4.  At The End of The Day.  Even with my hearing loss, I LOVE the different parts singing at different speeds in different sounds all at the same time overlapping!

5.  I Dreamed a Dream.  Love, not as much as On My Own, but such an emotional song!

6.  Some of the rest of my rankings have to do more with Andrew's play than the actual song qualities-  The Wedding Dance. Andrew was great in that scene.

7.  The Master of the House (minus the nasty stuff)

8.  The song "Look Down" on the street with Gavrosh solo, haha, he was so good!!!! I also like the song with this same melody/tune/music at the start of the play with the prisoners because Andrew was in that scene!

9. Castle on a Cloud.  Scott said that it was his favorite from the show, ever since then I've liked it a lot.  Melanee said that the girl who sang it in Andrew's play did a great job.  And that girl was also on the track team and I met her mom from parking in the "athletes and coaches only" parking lot at Enterprise, haha!

10. Red and Black.  This song reminds me of Andrew, too, because he had to sing part of it for his audition.

11.  Heart Full of Love.  I like Eponie, I know in the book, she was just a street urchin, but in the movie and in our play, she was cute and I think he should have picked her, haha!!!

12.  I like Drink With Me because Andrew was in that scene.  But I never go around singing it.

13  I like the different Javert songs, except the high note he hits as he was going down during the suicide.

14.  I liked the actor and actress of the Thenardiers....but they got a lot of stage time and their songs were all silly.

15.  I know I'm forgetting a lot of Jean Val Jean songs like the one after he lifted the cart and then went to the judge, etc....I dont know those very well.  And one he was singing with Javert after carrying Marius, right?

16.  Empty Chairs and Empty tables is sad.

17, I dont like Bring Him Home, but appreciate that it is a very difficult song to sing, especially for the Jean Valjean guy who in all the other songs sang with a deep voice.

18. I sort of like the song with the hooker street girls which was also the tune later with the scrubbing the blood in the street girls, but I dont know what it was called either time

19. I didnt really like the precher song with Jean Val Jean.

20,  I dont really think this goes second to last because a quarter of it is part of my favorite song, but that whole Jean ValJean dying scene....it ends with Do You Hear the People sing words....so I love it, but it's long and starts off not enjoyable.  (yeah this one should be higher, haha)

21 ok, and the worst song, dont know what it was called, but it was Eponie dying and the guy holding her and they were singing into each other and crying/singing.

Sharks

     You KNEW if I started up the old blog again, I'd HAVE to write about the Sharks!  But unfortunately it's the off season and I miss the games so much!  I spend way too much time watching hockey during the season/playoffs, but it is so fun for me, it's not a waste of time.  The Sharks are my team!  I love them.  My favorite player is Hertl, he's so happy and fun.  But I think I'm going to have to now have a second favorite player, Kevin Lebanc.  He just signed a contract that is not going to pay him very much this season (a lot to you and I, but pennies compared to other hockey players).  I think he's amazing for not trying to take a huge contract.  Now the Sharks can afford to get some more players!  The team will be better because of Lebanc's contract.  He's not stupid, he wants to win.  He wants to be on the Sharks!  He's amazing! Wish they were all like him.  What is Karlsonn going to do with 11 million dollars????  He should have taken less also!  So selfish.  But I'm also glad the Sharks paid him what he wanted because he's one of the best defenders in the league!!!  Go Sharks!  Go away Pavelski!!! I hope you hate the humidity and the cowboy boots!  I hope the Stars stink this year.  I hope Corey Perry spears you in practice!  Loser!  Talk about selfish!  I hope you get hit in the mouth again, but dont score on it!  And I doubt the Stars will ever score 4 goals in 4 minutes, with or without you, the Sharks did it without you!  There are only like 80 more days until the new season!  Lets GO

Theo/Bradley

I was looking through my downloaded pictures to find the Quakes logo and saw this picture!!! HAHAAAAA.  

I think Melanee made it through some filter on her cell phone...but it's so hilarious because people always say Theo looks like Bradley when Bradley was little....but look, Theo looks like Bradley grown up too!!! Just add a beard, and yeah, the facial expression is so similar!!!  

Funny!!!  

Quakes

The San Jose Earthquakes are good again.  They are exciting.  The win more often than lose.  I love watching them.  They play so well together, so much possession, and tons of good passing.  They have a great variety of players!  And this year they actually have a few likable guys. 

My dad and Scott do not really enjoy watching me enjoy watching the game, because I do sometimes talk a little bit to the tv ("talk" and "a little bit" might be exaggerating). Andrew often comes out of his room to remind me that the players and the refs cant hear me, haha. 

I think it would be fun to have a Quakes against the USMNT game....I wonder how that would go!!!  Since the USMNT is made up with all stars and supposedly the best of the best, they would probably win, but the Quakes advantage is that they really play as a team! 








I have a lot of favorite players on the team, here's my list in order-

Jackson Yuiell.  He is such a great passer.  He should be on the USMNT as a regular over Michael Bradley or that Columbus Crew dude! 

Wondo,  I know he's aging and sometimes looks ineffective, but he's a great scorer and person. 

Vako.  People on Twitter do not really like him.  Last year he was very lazy on defense, he dribbled into crowds and lost the ball a lot, and shot every time, even when there was a wide open teammate with a better angled shot....but this year, he doesnt really do any of those things!  He's amazing!

Danny Hoesen.  I always say "there's my dad's favorite player" when he comes into the game because he is Dutch and so is my dad!  He's also so good!!!!  I always tell Andrew he should do his hair like Danny, haha!  Andrew would never! 








Florian Jungwirth.  He's so tough!  He wasnt even a starter at the start of the season, but he has helped win some games for the Quakes stopping some of the best players in the league.  Championships are won by defense.  The Quakes really need him, no matter how great their offense is, they need to stop the other team, and he does it, somehow, haha, he's only like 5 foot 4.

I also like Nick Lima, he's so fast! 

And Tommy Thompson can juggle and has great ball control.  He reminds me of Bradley when he is playing right defense and goes up to try to score, you can see that he wants the ball!!!! 

Last year I used to HATE Shea Salinas, but I dont this season. 

Everyone else is good, but the players I listed are my "favorites".

Lake Tahoe, our FAVORITE

this isnt how the furniture in the house was set up, but everyone pulled in furniture to watch the Celtics game.  

This isn't from Lake Tahoe, but if I post it here, it will upload to google photos, I love when my dad comes to watch games.  

Flying is fun

I've been here at the Sacramento airport for six hours. I've already read all of Facebook and Twitter and Instagram and Snapchat. I guess it's time to blog. But, seriously, does any one blog anymore?

I was originally going to go on a 12:55 afternoon flight. I had to come to the airport early because Scott drove me here but had to get to back to work as soon as he could.  We left chico as soon as he took Andrew to school.  I had nearly three hours to wait just for the regularly scheduled flight. But that flight hasn't happened yet because of a broken windshield wiper. The mechanic took a while to get here then couldn't fix it, I guess. Now we are waiting for flight attendants to be brought here, but their flight was also delayed.

My plans have changed so many times today. First my dad called and said, "don't go", but we were already in yuba City. So we kept going but the Houston to San Antonio flights were overbooked, so going was risky. We called Scott's brother and he said he would help us out if needed. He would pick me up at the Houston airport and bring me back tomorrow if I didn't get onto any flights out of Houston. That was the second plan. Third plan was for melanees sister in law to pick me up and drive me half way, dax would also drive half way. The next plan was melanees friend pick me up and take me to melanees sister in law s house and then the sister in law take me half way. Then the 2:00 flight time was changed to 5:30 which would make my arrival time 11 pm, so next plan was to sleep at airport and take a 11 o'clock morning flight to San Antonio. Then a new plan was to rent aacar from Houston. Then it changed to a flight to Austin, with Scott's sister picking me up. Next plan was fly to Austin and melanee or Dax pick me up. The next was fly to austin and rent a car. There was then a plan to go home and try flights tomorrow. Then melanees friend came up with the best plan yet....she is going to pick me up at the airport at 11 pm then in the morning drive me to melanees house!!!! Right when that plan was finalized, finally, the 5:30 leave time changed to 5:55, haha. But we aren't changing the plan again!!!
