I have no idea what happened to the quality of the preview picture but ANYWAY. Here is a simple clean layout with a very limited colour palette. It's literally a bunch of greys and one single accent colour. I've tried this with a variety of different accent colours and they all look cool. There's info on how to edit it at the bottom of this post.

Features; simple style, slightly rounded images, muted colour scheme, custom fonts (my two new favourites!).

CSS (red version):

Live preview: A temporary one at my testing journal - [community profile] dreamslayout. There's also an orange version used here at the comm, and a green version @ my personal blog.

Instructions:
Image Go to 'Customize' & apply 'Rust' for 'Brittle'.
Image Go to 'Customize your theme', then 'Custom CSS'.
Image Where it says 'Use layout's stylesheet(s)', click no.
Image Copy & Paste the CSS into the big white box.
Image Hit save, and voila!
Image Please credit [personal profile] cirque @ [community profile] dustier :)
Image Let me know if you have any questions/need help.
Image Note! To change the accent colour, open the CSS up in Notepad (or similar) and go to EDIT -> REPLACE. Type EA6884 into the top box and find the hex code of the colour you'd like, and paste it into the bottom box. Hit REPLACE ALL and voila!

I'm baaaack.

This is my first layout since however long ago it was that I posted my last layout. Go figure... Hopefully you guys like this one--and thank you to people who have been loyal during my extended absence. Thanks buds.

This layout is designed to be simple, clean, reminding you to take a deep breath of fresh air. This layout's colours are inspired by nature, by old trees and older secrets. Feel free to change them up, I have linked the palette below.

Features; simple style, opacity neatness, custom font (my current fave font!!).

CSS (original):

CSS (no opacity):

Just a nice simple girly layout in Tabula Rasa. This looks a lot like some of the more simpler LJ layouts done in Flexible Squares.

The tinyicons took me f o r e v e r , and I'm not 100% satisfied with them but I kind of fell in love with this tinyicon set and just had to incorporate them somehow. If you'd like to delete/change them, go to the section in the CSS titled 'tinyicons' and just delete it :)

If girly colours aren't your thing - I am planning a revamp of this layout in super bright neon colours!

Features; rounded userpics, custom font, metadata icons.

Image Make sure it's set to 2 Column (Sidebar on the right).

Image Note! If you would like to change any of the colours, go ahead, I was considering making a less girly (more blue!) version of this as well but then I didn't :/

I've been playing around with Brittle; not 100% sure whether or not I like it, and I can't figure out how to move the navigation on the side up to the top... :S If you want to get rid of that space, fill it with an image (no wider than 250px) by adding the following code at the bottom of your CSS, putting your image URL where it says 'URL HERE' :

Features; tinyicons, custom font, metadata icons.
CSS: RETRO
Live preview: [personal profile] chimp

Instructions:
Image Go to 'Customize' & apply any of the 'Brittle' base themes.
Image Make sure it's set to 2 Column (Sidebar on the right).
Image Go to 'Customize your theme', then 'Custom CSS'.
Image Where it says 'Use layout's stylesheet(s)', click no.
Image Copy & Paste the CSS into the big white box.
Image Hit save, and voila!

Image Note! If you would like to change any of the colours, I used this colour palette, so you'll find all the hex codes on there :)

A very similar layout to my last one, same fonts (aaah! can't you tell I love that font?) but with a different colour scheme. I normally don't use such contrasting colours, but I really think it works.
Features; tinyicons, custom font, rounded userpics.

CSS: GOLDFISH

EDIT! CSS link updated to fix problems with Chrome: 16/11/12.

Instructions:
Image Go to 'Customize' & apply any of the 'Crisped' base themes.
Image Make sure it's set to 2 Column (Sidebar on the left).
Image Go to 'Customize your theme', then 'Custom CSS'.
Image Where it says 'Use layout's stylesheet(s)', click no.
Image Copy & Paste the CSS into the big white box.

My very first layout! It's quite simple and basic, because I really am a newbie when it comes to Dreamwidth CSS, but I think it's quite cute for my first time :D It uses custom fonts, custom cursor, and a lot of the colour pink! (If anyone has any strong objections to the colour pink, I could make this in a different colour scheme, just let me know :D)

CSS: STARDUST
Live preview: I'm using it here @ [community profile] dustier

Instructions:
Image Go to 'Customize' & apply any of the 'Crisped' base themes.
Image Make sure it's set to 2 Column (Sidebar on the left).
Image Go to 'Customize your theme', then 'Custom CSS'.
Image Where it says 'Use layout's stylesheet(s)', click no.
Image Copy & Paste the CSS into the big white box.

Welcome to the home of [personal profile] cirque's layouts. I used to code LJ layouts (still do, I suppose :P), and have been using Dreamwidth for a while, but I've always been too scared of attempting coding here. There are so many base styles! It looked so daunting! But recently, I downloaded all the crib CSS sheets, and started picking them apart bit by bit. And... it's actually not as hard as I thought :D Yay! So, please subscribe if you like what you see, and I hope you like your stay here :)
