Formed in 2004, Dynamic Dance is a hip-hop dance team created at the University of Maryland by founder Aurelia Michael. Upon arriving at the University of Maryland, Aurelia was fully intent on immersing herself in the dance community. However, as she explored the existing dance opportunities, she noticed a significant gap that she felt compelled to fill. Driven by her passion and leadership, Aurelia established Dynamic Dance during the fall semester of 2004, aiming to inspire and cultivate a new generation of talented dancers.

With a focus on excellence and artistry, Aurelia built a powerhouse team rooted in determination, creativity, and a commitment to mastering the craft of hip-hop dance. Through her vision and perseverance, Dynamic Dance quickly rose to prominence, achieving accolades such as winning multiple competitions, performing for the Washington Wizards, showcasing their talent at the European Embassy, and being featured in the prestigious Funk Academy. Over the years, the team has far surpassed Aurelia’s original vision, solidifying its legacy as thee cornerstone of dance at the University of Maryland.
