Corona Del Mar

So unfortunately, we never actually were able to go to Newport Beach. We had too large of a group and nine little kids so we just kept it easy and went to Corona Del Mar each day. It is an awesome beach for just hanging out, letting kids play and of course, boogie boarding. I would have loved to see the shops and stuff at Newport Beach but that just gives us an excuse to go back!

Every so often a plane would fly by advertising beer or rum or something. This one is kind of hard to read but is advertising Coors Light. I know it is weird of me to put this on here but I just thought it was funny.

This is what I spent a lot of time doing. It was fabulous!

The "big" boys building a sand castle.

The finished product. Wow, isn't it the most amazing sand castle you have ever seen?!

They have the most amazing beach houses! I loved them all! When I get an extra couple million, I am SO buying one.

Rocky Coast

ImageThis was taken just before we left the beach for the last day! :( It was such a fun trip. All the little kids were so fun. They though it would be good birth control for me to be around all those kids. I won't say it had the opposite affect on me but the cute little ones sure didn't make me want kids any less! Eric's boss' little boy, Wil is 4 and he is so freakin cute. Looks and personality. He cracked me up! All in all, we had a great time and it was nice to "get away" for a while!

Inspiration Point

Inspiration Point is at the top of the hill above Corona Del Mar (the beach we were at). Eric and I hiked (okay, so there was a trail...) up there one day to take pics.

One view from up top.

There were some workers taking their lunch that we had take our photo for us. They were a little apprehensive. Probably mad that we were making them waste their lunch time. Oh well....

Isn't it lovely???

These were some flowers lining someones driveway to their beach house. Lucky suckers! :)

Boogie Boardin'

So we just got back from the perfect weather in Newport Beach, California! Other than the drive, we had a great time! Here are some pics of Eric and the guys boogie boarding. I attempted the first day and actually loved it. I caught every wave I went for. The next day, however, was another story. The water was freezing but I braved it anyways, not only did I not catch ANY of the waves I went for, they gave me a beating! I have never really tasted actual salt water from the ocean...until this trip. That is one of the nastiest things I have ever tasted! It is like drinking the worst cough medicine you can imagine. Oh well, Eric had a great time and I fully enjoyed myself, lying on the beach, reading Breaking Dawn (which I loved by the way, but that is for another post...). I had fun hanging with the mom's and kids and just relaxing. Anyways, here are some pics of Eric and the guys.

He has gotten pretty good about letting me take his pic. What a good sport!

Image
I am not exactly sure who is who, but this is Eric, Brent, Lynn & Kelly. (Eric's boss and coworkers) Waiting for a big one!

Image
They were having competitions to see who could catch the most waves. It always has to be a competition.

This is Eric apologizing for almost taking out this lady and her kids! Oops! Ha ha.

ImageAll tuckered out! ha ha. And yes, my husband is under there!

Word Verification

Is it just me or does anyone else struggle to read those dang things half the time?! I swear the creators say "Let's see how close we can make this idiot get to the screen to try and figure this out". Man, sometimes I have to try like 2-3 times before I get one that I actually get right! Hopefully I am not alone in this but I wouldn't be surprised if I were. Just thought I would share my frustration. We are off to Newport Beach tonight so I will post pics when we return!

Am I lucky or What?!

So I got a call last week that I won 4 tickets to the Martina McBride concert at the Usana Amphitheater on the 1st. I was so excited! They were only lawn seats but it was so much fun! I took my mom, Eric's mom, and Chelsie (Eric's brother's fiance). There sure are some "interesting" people there and since we are all people watchers, it was fun. There were a couple ladies that were standing up the whole time and just singing their hearts out. They were even doing hand motions. They were SO into it. ha ha. And of course there were a few drunks to entertain us as well. It was great! I tried to get a pic but it was too dark.

I loved all her fun backgrounds so I took lots of pictures. They are not the greatest but oh well! I know you might not care :) but since I plan on getting my blog put into books, I wanted them on here. Anyways, here are a few pics!

Here we all are! Me, Eric's mom, my mom, & Chelsie.

They flashed her shoes on the screen and I tried to get a pick but I wasn't quick enough. They were insanly "high" heels! At least to me!

Yes, they were trying to look silly with these ginormous sunglasses!

These 3 are from the song "Do it Anyways" (I think that is what it is called!)

I cannot remember what these ones were from. She had a really cool video that went with the song "Concrete Angel". That is the one about the little girl that is abused. Yeah, I was pretty much crying! We had so much fun. I have not been to many concerts, but hers was for sure my favorite so far. We are going to Celine in November though so we will have to see......

I recorded video from her singing My Baby Loves Me Just the Way That I am. (And yes he does by the way! Ha ha :) Anyways, I am not smart enough to figure out how to get it off my camera. I cannot even figure out how to watch it again on my camera! I guess I better break out the old owner's manual.....
