Dirt Bike Dreamin

The other day after dad got home from a ride and was washing his bike off, Deegan thought it would be fun to try it out!

I think he is gonna be a natural! I guess we will wait another year or so before we get him one of his very own.....

(This pics were taken with my phone so they aren't the greatest.)

Caught up!

The other day it was raining and Deegan kept saying "ah-si, ah-si" (outside) so I put on his cute little raincoat and out we went!

Image
Our neighbors recently moved and left us this little car. It is not in that great of shape but it was free and Deegan loves it!

Image
Image
Don't be fooled, he is actually quite mad in this pic! ha ha. This kid LOVES to be outside. I love it. I love watching him learn and explore his world. He is all boy and loves dirt and rocks and gets super excited when loud cars, trucks and motorcycles drive by. He is seriously so so much fun!!

We ran out to Eric's parents house the other evening and Deegan's cousin Kaden put this hat on him. He usually hates hats so we were pretty surprised he kept it on for as long as he did.

Deegan Crockett!

Whenever we are out there, you can bet Deegan will be over at the fridge playing with this leapfrog toy. He loves it. He also loves to get in her tupperware lid drawer. Just like home.

Well, now I am all updated! (For now) I am getting a new memory card tomorrow so I wanted to get all of the pics off my old card. I recently learned that memory cards have a lot to do with how fast/well your camera takes pics. ha ha. Yes, I am slow. My memory card is pretty old and small. So, with my new card, I am super excited to see the improvements. I am going from an SD 1 GB Class 2, to an SDHC 8 GB Class 10. Yay for lots of space!! ha ha

Just another day in Paradise

This last Sunday while were out in Paradise, Eric's parents took us over to "meet" the baby owls.

Yup! There are 3 baby Great Horned Owls living in Eric's grandma's trees. We snapped a few pics.

ImageThe 3rd one was in hiding this day but here are 2 of the fluffy little creatures. Aren't they cute?!

Image
Image
And here is the mommy owl. So neat!

Image
And here is Deegan enjoying a sucker. Told ya he can always count on a sucker from his Grandma Sanders.

My little monkey!

He liked to pick the bark up and throw it. We had a lovely Sunday afternoon!

Messes

Our little monkey had made a couple lovely little messes lately!

Exhibit A:

Cornstarch

ImageIt would have been a lot worse had I not caught him when I did! ha ha

Image
I absolutely LOVE this pic of his little cornstarch foot prints.

Image
ImageYou can't help but laugh when something like this happens!

Image
At least he was kind enough to help clean up after!

Image
He has really taken an interest in sweeping/cleaning lately. I think we may need to get him a little set of broom, dustpan and vacuum.

ImageHe is such a good little helper! He always gets me the dustpan when he sees me sweeping.

Image
Just a day or so later, however, he did it again......

Image
Yup. An entire bag of pretzel sticks. Salt and all.

Image
I will be honest, I didn't clean this one up until after Eric got home. ha ha. I didn't find this one quite as funny at the time. Guess I will learn to keep certain things out of his reach!

Flooding!

I know we aren't the only ones that had flooding by our house, and I know there are others that had awful experiences with this flooding but the river a couple blocks below our house did have some pretty major flooding that we stopped to see on Sunday.

Image
KSL and Fox were there to catch some footage.

Image
Image
Image
Here is the water pouring over the road. There is a bridge just down from the road and they actually diverted the water to go on the road in an effort to keep it from taking out the bridge.

Image
This is where they piled all sorts of debris to keep the water off the bridge.

Image
Image
Image
These next pics are a little farther south. And they were taken a week or so before. You can see the river overflowing the sides of the bank and flooding the field.

Image
Image
Now, the river has totally broke through the sides of the bank. The river is now flowing freely through fields rather then in the river bed. Pretty crazy. It has of course calmed down somewhat now (well before all the rain....) I find this to all be pretty interesting! So, sorry if this post was a little boring :)

Mother's Day

Deegan got to spend Mother's Day visiting with all of his favorite ladies! After church we headed out to visit Grandma Sanders.

ImageDeegan and Grandma Sanders! He can always count on her for a sucker! We are so thankful for our Suzy! She raised a pretty incredible boy if I do say so myself :) We know that she is there for anything we need and is such a great grandma to Deegan! Love you Suzy!

Image
This binki used to be Deegan's cousin Kambree's. It has remained around as a spare and he knows right where to find it! He doesn't seem to mind that it is pink and purple :)

Image
I know this pic is blurry but I still think it is so cute! He loves this toy and we are happy that it is at grandma's house and not ours. ha ha

Then it was off to Grandma Tribett's house!

Image
Here is cousin Tayson enjoying a yummy strawberry!

We were spoiled and the girls didn't have to do anything for dinner and we got Belgian waffles with fresh strawberries, eggs and bacon. It was super good!

Image
Deegan and Grandma Tribett! Deegan has learned how to smell. It's pretty cute!

I was so mad that I forgot to get a picture of me and Deegan! :( Oh well.

I just want to take a minute and write down how incredibly thankful I am to be a mom! It is all I ever wanted to be and I will forever be so grateful for Deegan to for making me one! I don't even know how I got so incredibly lucky to be blessed with such a sweet, nice, happy, perfect boy. I must have done something good to deserve him! He makes my life so happy. (Not that I wasn't before:) I think about him constantly while I am at work and can't wait for the day that I don't have to leave him.

Deegan, you make your mama so happy! I love you more and more and more each day and have loved watching you grow and learn. I hope you know that I will always love you, and that I am always here for you!

And last, but most certainly not least, I want to thank my mom. She was a great example to me of the exact mom I wanted to be. She was/is my best friend and I knew/know that I could always go to her for anything. Almost every night before I went to bed, you could find me in my mom's room, talking to her on her bed. I still call and talk to her pretty much day (if not multiple times) and love our talks. I don't know what I would ever do without her! I love you mom!!!

I hope you all had a Happy Mother's Day as well!

18 Months!

Deegan is officially a year and a half young today! So, what's he up to?

His vocabulary is blowing up! Some new words are: Kai (our dog, said as "Guy"), shoe, hot, papa, dog/doggie, ball, outside, garbage, bear, coco (for his aunt Courtney), Day-i (for Uncle David). That's all I can think of for now but he is getting so good at mimicking words we say. He also says "doo" for his Uncle Dylan. He has been saying this for at least a month or more. Balloon has improved tons too. :) My next goal is to teach him all of the names on Eric's side of the family.

He is getting to be a fast little walker and will be running in no time!

Along with hair, belly, and toes, he knows where his nose and eyes are.

He LOVES to be outside. And he is all boy. Loves throwing rocks and playing in the dirt.

The house next door to us is currently vacant and has a ton of dandelions in it. Deegan loves to pick the tops off of them and hand them to me. ha ha. His little hand is totally yellow by the time we are done.

He doesn't like walking on grass. Not sure why but he will just stand there and reach and whine for you and won't move.

Still an amazing sleeper! And goes to sleep so easily. He loves his bed as much as I do and just curls up on his belly and snuggles right in.

He walks around with a little strut and puts his hands behind his back. Its super cute!

There are a few (understatement) mounted animals at my work and now Deegan loves to touch the deer heads and the wooden bear that are in the front office. He does it very carefully and sometimes whips his hand back super quick like he is scared. ha ha.

STILL in size 3 diapers. Hopefully he gets to size 4 eventually cuz I have a supply built up!

Size 3 or 4 shoes. 4's are still a titch big. Size 6-9/12 month bottoms and 12 month tops.

His 18 month check up is on Monday. I am super curious to see his percentiles. I'm not expecting much increase. :)

For Eric's moms Mother's Day gift we got the 3 grandkids pics taken together. The photographer also snapped a few of Deegan. His official "18 month" photoshoot is next month and I am super excited about the location! But these ones turned out so stinkin cute! She did a great job! I will post the cousin pics in another post. But here is Deegan a couple weeks ago!

We asked him "How big is Deegan?" He never disappoints when answering this question!

Where's your hair? :)
