About Us.

Hi, we're the Eastmonds. Rob, Amy, James, Elli, Emma, and Jake. We love to work together, play together, and just be family together. We are beginning a new adventure. We are moving from the city life to the country life, and are anxious to share our experiences along the way. We will be learning how to be more self sufficient through gardening efforts, raising animals, and trying new energy sources while becoming more green. We love our world, and want to be able to use it better and safer as it has been given to us from our Heavenly Father. We are very blessed because of our beliefs in our savior Jesus Christ. We hope you enjoy our blog, and hope to hear from you again!

MORE SUMMER FUN! Traditions, Projects, Birthdays, Activities, and Anniversaries

Image Jake did swimming lessons this summer

ImageHe learned to swim at a level where mom felt ok about letting him swim without floats! (Last Child Even) He could swim before I think, but I was just too afraid to let him try without floats. Big step for mom!

ImageShortly after Trek, I had my torn meniscus repaired. These are the beautiful flowers from my parents and siblings! Thanks so much!

ImageIn Rob's family it is a tradition to make homemade rootbeer in June and have it ready for the 4th of July. We tried it in early July to have it ready for 24th of July. We need to change something though, because we think we may of almost given all our friends rootbeer that could have been considered alcoholic. It had a funny taste, unlike the rootbeer Rob's Grandma and Aunts always make. Oops sorry! Hope no one felt a little tipsy or anything. We'll do better next year!

ImageJake got real good at clamping those lids on the bottles!

ImageFor my birthday, some of my sisters and I got pedicures, went to lunch, and went on the beautiful new duck pond trail in Provo. So fun!

ImageDawnAnne, Patti, Jan, and Stacie. Sure missed you Kris! Birthday lunches are a tradition we started a while back, but since Stacie and DawnAnne are now in Utah, they get to join us!

ImageSo one day I told the kids that I wanted them to try to make some kind of rock stream thing out of our murky pond that comes from the ground water that is pumped out of our basement every august. It was eroding away the ground and just looked ugly. I left to run some errands, and when I got home, lo and behold, this was their creation. I was so shocked and impressed! I was so proud of them for working together to create this little stream.

ImageSo creative!

ImageThey even put a little bridge for little plastic animals. I was very proud of them.

Image24th of July parade! Tradition every year!

ImageEmma with a snake at Pioneer Heritage Park in SL. A new tradition I would like to start. Emma too, wants to make a new tradition of having a whole week full of doing pioneer activities during the week of the 24th. She wants to make lots of homemade things, dress like pioneers, and pretend to be pioneers.

Image Make a wish! Wishing for a friend party that she never got, so we'll have to make next year an extra big celebration with her friends.

ImageTa Da!! Matching dresses for her Bday. Cute cousins!

ImageEmma and her creepy manican head that she begged for so she could learn how to do hair. Great idea, but this head is a little creepy we discovered. Her eyes always follow you no matter what direction her head is. Can you hear "Twilight Zone" music in your head?

ImageBeautiful Birthday Girl!

ImageHappy Birthday on a Sunday in her Bday church outfit! We actually got to spend it in Logan with Jewetts. Very fun Weekend! We spent it with Jewetts as we were on our way up to Idaho, to take James to EFY.

Image20 Miles for 20 Years! August 27th. Rob and I did a 20 mile bike ride for our 20th year anniversary! We had such a fun time! Thanks My Love!

TREK- June

Image I've always wanted to go on trek as a ma with Rob. This year, I got to go with Rob and James. It was truly amazing. What an experience. We honor our pioneers! They were such great examples of faith and devotion to a righteous cause. Freedom to worship and reach Zion, that they may fully partake of the temple covenants.
ImageThe company getting ready for the big day. The 1st day, we walked about 5 miles and the 2nd day we walked about 10 miles. It was long and hard, but so worth it. I was blessed to be able to go and do it, even though I had a torn meniscus.

ImageThe company all lined up and ready to go.

ImageOur cart and our pioneer kids. We had 4 boys and 3 girls. Good kids. We had a good time.

ImageRob and some of the men, trying to relive what it must have been like crossing chest high water, against the current, in the middle of the winter. We had it easy in the summer.

ImageOne of the breaks. James playing the harmonica. It was fun to see him periodically throughout the trek. He had a good family!
ImageJames dancing. One night, we had lots of dancing and learning different country dances.

Image More dancing. All in all, everyone had a good time. It was hard, but an amazing spritual experience. So glad we could go. Hopefully we can go again with all our kids.

ImageEmma by handcart

ImageThis is a really fun field trip. They let the kids push and pull handcarts around a little trail. There are tons of little shops, houses, and pioneer activities. Great to see what an actual town would have been like as a pioneer.

ImageHandcarts ready

ImageHaving fun!

ImageThe little school. Emma's favorite place there

Image They all learned how to write their names in the Deseret Alphabet. An alphabet based on letter and word sounds, created for the pioneers, since they all came from such different places, so they could have a common language to communicate easier.

ImageAter the long, fun day.
