Escape from East Berlin
A middle school level book the story deals with attempts to cross the Berlin Wall in 1961 and 1989. It does a good job of showing the suspicion and fear people dealt with daily in the communist regime.

The Ghost of Grey Fox Inn
This case was definitely a bit of a classic with the fake ghosts and secret passageways. The atmosphere was good, and wedding felt surprisingly drama-free, considering the plot.

The Sign in the Smoke
The atmosphere was so creepy and well-done. I had no real reason for knowing who it was, but I had a feeling, and it proved to be right. The ghost story was so good, as well.

The Red Slippers
Bess’ low-key identity crisis was cool to see. Probably my favorite culprit so far, and I genuinely feel bad for him. Seeing Jamison feel bad and try to change was a really hopeful way to end this.

Your place in this world
I really like this book.I enjoy Jake La Botz as a musician and I feel like this story may be a little bit of an imaginative twist on his life.

The Let Them Theory
I loved this book! So much common sense that she hands out in very doable ways. I've already recommended it a 1/2 dozen times and I just finished reading it!

Children of the Stars
Historical fiction is my favorite genre. I learned such interesting facts about Argentina in this novel. A wonderful story for young adults up.

A Script for Danger
The cover makes sense because of the ending, but it does feel kind of disconnected from the story. Brian was definitely suspicious and unlikable from the beginning.

The Clue at Black Creek Farm
It definitely held my attention the whole time. This one felt more fast-paced and high-stakes than some of the other books. The family was realistic, but it was also wrapped up way too neatly.

Underground abductor
This book shares the story of Harriet Tubman in comic book/graphic book form. It is designed for elementary and middle level students but was intriguing and personalized/humanizes the story that is often a recounting of facts without the human dr...
