Tour de Alabama

We are home from a wonderful week and a half in Alabama. We had a great time visiting with family, celebrating my Dad's 65th birthday, attending my 10 year high school reunion and introducing Mac to lots of family and friends. Our visit flew by and there were still lots of friends that we would have loved to see....but the time was just too short.
I have uploaded pictures from our visit on the Picasa picture page...but lots of my pictures that I thought were on my camera are on my Mom's camera...oh well!

We are back in Dallas where it is currently 105 degrees outside....needless to say, we have stayed inside all day! Hope you are all doing well and staying cool!

2 Months Old!

Image Proudly showing off my three Snoopy band-aids! Check out the size of my thighs...can you believe I even felt the needle! :)

Well, there were some major tears shed in Dallas, Texas this morning! Mac had his 2 month appointment and got 3 shots! It was so sad - of course I cried too...and I knew from the one previous shot he had at 2 weeks that I needed Robert to be with me. Cis Cis was here for his earlier shot and I made her hold him still because I couldn't stand it - and Robert had to do the same today....and we heard a cry erupt that we have never heard before. But, he is all better now and resting with his really cool band-aids on. Now for the funny part - Mac weighs 14.9 lbs! He is a BIG boy! He weighed 7 lbs 12 oz when he was born, so you can do the math - the boy likes to eat!! He is 24.5 inches long and in the 95% for height and weight. Robert likes to think that we may have Auburn's next great quarterback on our hands, but I think it is more like an offensive lineman or sumo wrestler!

We are getting ready for our trip to Alabama....we can't wait to see all of our friends and family.

P.S. We are celebrating because Mac's umbilical cord finally fell off today...so weird, I know! Our pediatrician said his longest record was 92 days....and Mac's was only on about 60 something days...so sadly we do not hold the umbilical cord record at Pediatric Associates of Dallas!

Can You Believe It's Already July?!?

Image

I cannot believe it is already July 9th!! I am just amazed at how time flies by...and I am sorry that I have not posted lately. We have had a busy few weeks so I will catch you up on what all we have been doing.

We had a visit in late June from Cis Cis while Robert went to Mississippi for Tyler and Betsey's wedding. We were sad to miss the wedding, but we loved having Cis Cis in Dallas for a visit. Mac decided to start sleeping through the night at about 6.5 weeks, so we have been very thankful for that...now if we can only figure out how to take naps during the day!

We also had our first trip back to Alabama for the 4th of July and I am very happy to report that Mac was a wonderful traveler and only cried about 10 minutes during the 12 hour drive. Before we left, Robert got nervous about driving home since we were going to Lake Martin and it would be a longer drive home....so he bought Mac and me a one-way ticket home on Southwest. Wouldn't you know that our flight home was delayed - but the little traveler did so well! I had a bottle for him to have during take-off so his ears wouldn't hurt but I forgot about having one for the landing. I had just come to the realization that I would have to nurse him on the airplane because the flight was so late leaving Birmingham and I knew he would be hungry and his ears might be hurting, so I tried really hard to get a window seat and not sit near any weird looking men, etc...(and I had my friend's "nursing cover" that she let me borrow). Well, wouldn't you know that the plane is almost full and this cute young guy boards the plane right before they shut the doors - and he sits next to me - and of course, he ends up knowing Alice Anne from Baylor! Thank goodness Mac never woke up....I practically force-fed him the bottle for his ears during take-off and then prayed the rest of the time that he would not wake up....and he actually cooperated! Thank you Lord....I just don't think I could have handled the other!

We had a wonderful 4th and I just wish I had more pictures of it...I did a good job with the video camera - but forgot to take pictures! I am not sure if I will ever get it all figured out! :)

We are heading to Auburn in one week to celebrate C-Boy's birthday and we will be there for my 10 year high school reunion! We can't wait to get to Auburn to see all of our friends!

Hope you are all having a great summer so far!
