Beach Trip 2008

Image

We had a great time at Orange Beach with entire family! I am in mourning and missing everyone so much - especially all of those extra sets of hands to play with Mac! Mac swam in the pool for the first time and dipped his toes in the ocean....and he liked the water, although the above picture doesn't look like it. I am going to try and figure out how to do a "slide show" of all of my pictures - so be on the lookout for it! Hope everyone is doing well and having a great "end of the summer"!

*Note: There is no way that I am posting a "bathing suit" pic of me on this blog - so I will post one of Robert! Hahaha! He would die....good thing he never reads this! :)

She Ought to Be Ashamed Of Herself....

You can click on this link to see who is the latest "face" of the University of Alabama Admissions.

http://www.ua.edu/admissions.html

If Alabama's admissions go up because of your cute face on their website, then I am calling Auburn and having them take your diploma back! We are just teasing you, KK....we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished this year! Congrats on one year of law school down and for being selected as a U of A Law School Recruiter. Happy Birthday and We Love You!

Little Man

Here is a recent picture of Mac in what I consider sort-of a "big boy" outfit...I cannot believe he will be 3 months old in one week! It is absolutely crazy (and kind of sad) how quickly time flies by! I had to pack up some of his newborn clothes and day gowns that he can no longer wear and it just made me a little sad...but I know that we have so many fun stages ahead of us as well. He has just been a easy and really sweet baby and he has made being a new mom so much fun!
He is loving his rattles, play mat and swing and he is smiling and laughing quite a bit. He gets the biggest smile on his face when we go to get him from his crib when he wakes up and it just melts your heart. My favorite is when he is eating and he will just pause and look up at me with this huge grin, like he is saying "thank you so much for this wonderful meal!". He also LOVES for us to read books to him and I think his all time favorite so far is "Barnyard Dance" (thanks to the Vines for the awesome Sandra Boynton books) and of course I can hardly get through those sweet books like "Guess How Much I Love You", "Just in Case You Ever Wonder" and "The Giving Tree" without crying.
Well, enough bragging on my child for one post....and I swore I would never do that when I started this blog. Goodnight!
**I could not get any pics to upload, so I'll try again later**

I think the heat is getting to me...

Image
After our 11th day in a row of temperatures over 100 degrees, I had to venture out of the house this afternoon because we had absolutely no groceries. So, I decided to run by Right Start (the best store in the world if you have babies/young kids....and I don't know how to put a link on here, otherwise I would do that underline thingy that directs you to their website) and then I was going to the grocery store. Well, I went by both - and when I got home, I could hardly believe the weird and random assortment of things I had purchased....and the money I had spent. I guess I just need to stay in the cave and stick to my budget. But here is a sampling of what I was up to this afternoon:

A.) Tony Romo Infant Jersey....totally tacky but hilarious. This may redeem myself in Robert's eyes for spending money on useless junk. If ya'll want one just head to your local Albertson's...they are $19.99. (p.s. I tried to find a Demarcus Ware one to represent AHS - but they don't make his jersey in infant sizes)

B.) Bebe Pod Infant Seat....chose this one instead of the Bumbo b/c the folks at Right Start said you can use it longer and the back is higher and the places for the legs are wider than the Bumbo seat (good thing if you've seen Mac's thighs) ....so I guess we will try it out sometime soon.

C.) Skinny Cows...what more can I say than its 105 degrees outside.

D.) Mustela Sunscreen...my pale little nino is going to be needing the SPF 50 at the beach next week.

E.) Skwish Classic (its the colorful toy)...have no clue what it does, but again - the folks at Right Start acted like if Mac didn't have this toy he probably wouldn't make it to Kindergarten. (Note: All of a sudden, I am noticing a pattern....I put a whole lot of stock in what the folks at Right Start say...I guess I have sucker written across my forehead each time I enter that store).

F.) Key Lime Yogurt....my breakfast item of choice.

G.) Tostado Shells....bought these along with all of the fixin's for my dinner tonight, as today - August 4, 2008 marks my return to the kitchen after my 6 month + hiatus. Thanks Ging Ging for dinner idea!

F.) Santa Margherita 2006 Chianti Classico......again, have no clue why I bought this but they had a little booth set up at Albertson's and Judy, who is in charge of the wine and beer department at Albertson's, is an exceptionally good saleswoman and I must have either looked like I needed a glass of wine or again, I am a sucker - but she said I had to get it because it was $7.00 off the regular price....

G.) US Weekly - "New Mom Diet Secrets - How They Get Thin Fast"....pretty sure I won't follow any of their "tips or suggestions"....another Skinny Cow and a glass of Chianti, please.....but I'd get thin fast too if I had trainers, chefs, nannies.... :)

H.) People - "The Twins"....I, along with the rest of the world, had to see what the Brangelina babies looked like. They're cute.

I.) Sprite...I am just tired of drinking water so I am moving onto Sprite. And the little cans are 100 calories.

Well.....have to go run start dinner & read my magazines. Oh - and one more thing....I joined Facebook. Probably the worst decision I've made in a long time, as I am not sure my bed is going to be made all week since I am spending every free moment adding and confirming friends...but it's fun and I recommend it. Hope ya'll have a good week!
