The Residences at Wingate
Today, the healthcare tech market is booming and the number of individuals impacted by Alzheimer's is skyrocketing. Here's a snapshot of the problem... and the opportunity for healthcare tech:
- In the United States alone, there are 5 million Americans with Alzheimer's and over 15 million caregivers. Without effective treatments, those numbers are expected to grow to 17 million and 45 million by 2050, respectively.
- Globally, there are already over 44 million people living with Alzheimer's. By 2050, the number could be as high as 136 million.
- The global healthcare IT market is projected to hit $66 billion by 2020. Today, it accounts for roughly 20% of GDP in the United States.
