Okay so here's a funny story. When Jacob found out he was going to get another sibling he was positive it was a girl. When I told him that it might be another boy he just brushed me off. So about a week before we were to find out what gender the baby was I had to take Jacob to a church meeting with me. One of the Primary leaders was there and here's the conversation that occurred:
Sis. H: Jacob, are you going to be getting a brother or a sister?
Jacob: It's a sister. I'm not having any more brothers.
Sis. H: Oh really? What if its a brother? You know, my son doesn't have any brothers, only sisters, I'm sure he'd love to have a brother.
Jacob: Sister H.!!! If it's a boy, YOU CAN ADOPT HIM!!!!!!!!!!!
Then a day or two before we found out, we were at Costco and walked by little dresses and Jacob was insistent that we get one for his sister.
Jacob: Mom, we have to get this dress for my baby sister!
Me: Um, well Jacob, it could be a boy you know.
Jacob: (Long pause looking at me like I'm an idiot, then says the following with an attitude) Mom, if it's a boy we're going to give it to Sis. H.....REMEMBER!?!?!
Oh, DUH, I forgot...
Needless to say we were all very happy that it was a girl and that we didn't have to go through the adoption process!
He would count down the days until her due date for months and helped buy her clothes and get their room ready since they share a room together.
He is all too proud to have her and loves her SO much. In fact a few weeks ago he came up to me and said, "Mom, I have just falled in love with her!"
