Making a Come Back

Surprise!

I am actually blogging.  Can you even believe it?

I really didn't fall off the face of the earth.  I just was sucked to life and the busy-ness of it all.

But guess what?!?  I am going to make a come back.  (At least I really hope so.)  I have missed my blog, and the tidbits of life that get written down here.  So, here I am.  Ready to write those tidbits down on a more consistent basis.

To start off.  I figured that instead of being completely overwhelmed with the amount of pictures and catch up I have, I would just write an update of our family.

Let's start off with the Hunk of our household.  Dan.  This man never ceases to amaze me with all that he does.  And usually it is for the benefit of others.  He is busy with work.  (Which he loves, by the way.)  AND he recently got a new position that is a step up.  He now travels to various locations to fix all kinds of machinery when he is not working in the shop.  Usually it is close by at a mine or a business in town.  Occasionally he may get called farther out, but that won't happen much.  He is enjoying learning and increasing his knowledge.  We are so proud of him.  When he is not working, he is fulfilling his duties as a member of the bishopric in our ward or working on whatever new project I have come up with.  That man can basically do anything.  There is no limit to his talents.

Now, our five year old and almost kindergartener.  Yikes!  I still can barely type that without being saddened.  I don't know what I am going to do without Alayna at home!  That girl is more of a help than she will ever know.  She is one of the sweetest, most kind hearted little girls there is.  And I love her for it.  It is common for me to hear from other Adults, "Alayna is just such a sweet girl."  And it is true.  She is such a blessing.  Alayna is keeping busy this summer with summer movies and kids classes at the college.  She is looking forward to being in dance this next school year.  I am just trying to soak up all the Alayna time I can get this summer.

Brylen is now 2 years old and filled with personality.  And boy do we love it.  At times I can't believe how much determination and independence is in that little person.  You would think I was dealing with an adult.  But I can't hold it against her because I think she is a little minnie me at times.  Or at least, a lot of things she does reminds my mom of me.  Bless her heart.  Her vocabulary has really exploded over the last couple of months and she is pretty easy to understand, unless she gets talking too fast.  My favorite phrase (which much to my dismay, she is quickly outgrowing) is, "Ello!"  (Hello).  Just imagine a pretty spot on English accent.  If she feels comfortable in her setting, she will shout this to anyone around.  Brylen has also been potty training for about a week.  She is catching on pretty quickly.  We still have some work to do when it comes to informing Mom when she needs to go, but she at least knows what to do.  Fingers crossed, she will start to really get the hang of it soon.

And now there is me.  I have stayed busy with activities for the girls.  They keep me going and I enjoy being their Mommy.  I have just finished my part time job this last week.  It was a great outlet for me and I enjoyed getting away a few days a week and doing something not kid related, but with Dan's new position, I don't have the same flexibility that I did before.  It was a fun experience and I am glad I got to do it.  I am still serving in the Young Women's program in my ward and I am absolutely LOVING it!  We have a small ward, but our Young Women are fantastic and we have really great leaders as well.  Other than that I have kept busy with projects around the house with the help of Dan's handyman skills (Built toy organizer for Alayna's room, refinished bookshelf, made a magnetic calendar, and multiple decorations for the house.)  We currently have our house up for sale and hopefully we will sell it soon.  So, if you know of anyone looking for a house in Safford, Arizona, let me know.  ;)

That's us in a nutshell.  Here's to more updating on a regular basis!

P.S.  Yes, I am aware that I am probably only updating two people.  My mom and my sister.  With google reader gone, blog reading has really taken a hit.
