Librarians opening title 4-6The Librarians and the Graves of Time – Director: Jonathan Frakes/Writers: Marco Schnabel, Larry Stuckey

This one starts with some Russians digging up a grave in Mexico. They find the coffin empty except for a piece of metal shaped kinda like an asterisk. Librarians Reviews: Season 4, Episode 5

Librarians opening title 4-5The Librarians and the Bleeding Crown – Director: Marc Roskin/Writer: Tom MacRae

For everyone expecting a Spider-Man review today, I better explain myself. I’ve just gotten a new job that’s taking up more of my time than anticipated, so I’m going to have to put my blog on indefinite hiatus. But before I do that, I will finish off my reviews of The Librarians. They’ll be appearing three times a week instead of just once, so for all the Spider-Man fans out there, sorry but this is just the easiest solution (and it is fitting to end my Spidey reviews with the classic issue #50). Anyway, on to the next Librarians review. This one starts with a teenager named Pete waking up to find that he’s an old man. He runs to tell his parents, but they’ve prematurely aged too, as has everyone else in town. Continue reading “Librarians Reviews: Season 4, Episode 5”

Spider-Man Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man 49, Amazing Spider-Man 50

ASM 049 coverAmazing Spider-Man #49 (June 1967) – “From the Depths of Defeat” – Stan Lee/John Romita

This one starts where last issue left off, with Spider-Man lying in the snow half dead after getting the shit kicked out of him by the new Vulture. But the cold actually revives him instead of finishing him off and he staggers down to the street, still weakened by the flu. Continue reading “Spider-Man Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man 49, Amazing Spider-Man 50”

Librarians Reviews: Season 4, Episode 4

Librarians opening title 4-4The Librarians and the Silver Screen – Director: Jonathan Frakes/Writer: Noah Wyle

This one starts with Eve and Flynn going to a retrospective for a director named James Desmond Wheeler. Eve is a big fan of his work and knows it all by heart, including the movie they’re currently watching, a noir thriller called The Found, the Lost, and the Looking. Unfortunately, something weird happens, causing Eve and Flynn to vanish from the theatre and appear inside the movie up on the screen. Continue reading “Librarians Reviews: Season 4, Episode 4”

ASM 047 coverAmazing Spider-Man #47 (April 1967) – “In the Hands of the Hunter” – Stan Lee/John Romita

This one starts with a Spider-Man/Kraven fight that’s presented as a flashback even though it’s not from any of Kraven’s previous appearances. Yes, it’s a continuity insert, the first of many. Turns out Kraven fought Spidey before their fight in issue 34 because he was paid to by the Green Goblin. Continue reading “Spider-Man Reviews: Amazing Spider-Man 47, Amazing Spider-Man 48”

ASM 045 coverAmazing Spider-Man #45 (February 1967) – “Spidey Smashes Out” – Stan Lee/John Romita

This one starts with Spider-Man getting used to his sprained arm by stopping a truck hijacking, but he realizes it won’t be so easy to take the Lizard down. Speaking of the Lizard, he breaks into Connors’s office to get the Lizard Formula, but freaks out because he can’t read all the scientific gibberish in the notebooks. (Lizard isn’t aware that he actually is Curt Connors; he thinks Connors is a completely different being. He should hang out with the Hulk so they can talk about their “separate” alter egos.)
