ooh the waiting game....

what do you do when you are just waiting......

Evan has had a few offers for jobs "when they come open" now is just the waiting game.

Thats great but how long do we wait, when do you say enough is enough. We really need a job and Evan has worked so hard he deserves one. In the many interviews he has had he has been second or third in the running and barely gets beat out.

He has been told he will go far in his career, he just needs that foot in the door....how is he suppose to get that foot in there when nobody will give him that opportunity....

I know something will come up and this is just a trial of our patience, we need to stretch our patience more because it is running very thin these days......

Lately Madison has not wanted to take morning naps, okay thats fine. Today she got up at 7, it is now 11:45 and she is still going strong. I have tried to put her down and let her cry, after 20 min. i give up. Well just a few minutes ago a walked in there, it got really quite and I wanted to see if she was really asleep. lets back ukp let me tell you how her "side" of the room is set up. (she shares with computer and storage) . there is a chair, then a dresser and then her crib. I walk in there and she has pulled the bumper down and has clothes everywhere!! Of course i would never be that stupid as to leave her drawers open so she can reach into them. why would i do such a thing. Of course i started laughing, what other reaction would you have...then she started laughing (probably not a good thing to teach her that). Alas she is still awake and playing with Evans shoes and computer bag..........

why wouldn't I be grateful

Lately I have felt that I have been too complacent. I have been taking things for granted and I shouldn't be. I am so grateful for everything that i have in my life. I decided to make a list of everything (well not everything a short list) of what I am grateful for

My husband, he is such a wonderful man who works really hard so that I can have the opportunity to stay home and raise our daughter. He is funny and kind and I love him more every day.

Our daughter, she is such a joy and everyday is a new adventure watching her learn and grow.

having a place to live. We have a roof over our heads and food to eat.

family. We have been blessed with wonderful families who help in the time of need and are there to lend support when needed

health and wellness.. we have always been healthy, happy. No illnesses have come upon us and we are truley grateful for that.

friends, we have made such wonderful friends and I have someone to work out with who have a girl the same age.

Living where we do everything is within a few minutes of us.

We are truly grateful to have the opoportunity to get an education and to enjoy what we are doing.

I do love my life and am grateful for every minute that we have together as a family.

Did I tell you......

that I ran a 5k on Labor day......(no I am not telling you my time)......and I FINISHED!!! So i couldnt move the next day, okay, but it was worth it.

I am running another one on the 19th........with me luck.

And of course since my friend and I doing those heck why not sign up for a half marathon while we are at it.....Oct. 3rd that soon, okay its official, just shovel me off the pavement once the race is over.

Evan has had MANY interviews for jobs, I really hope he gets one, he can only take so much more and he works so hard that he deserves it. We don't see him much either, which is hard, and i think Madison knows cause when he is home she just wants to be with him.

Madison is NOT crawling yet, she is so stinking close, but it wil happen in time. But she does have 2 teeth...

look at me mom!

Image ImageImage

ahahaha, i walked in on her doing this the other day. She doesnt like anything on her head but for some reason she put the strainer on there and wouldnt take it off. I just love this girl.

wow its been awhile

Image ImageImageImageImageImage

man it have been awhile since I have posted. There has been alot going on. Evans mom and sister (Kendra) came up to visit and we went to Oregon to visit my family, then made a trip to seattle. Goodness...
When Evans family were up here, we went to an Orchard to pick some apricots and Kendra decided it was high time Madison tried an apricot and SHE LIKED IT.
We also went on a gondala ride. WE dont want her to be afraid of hights. Madison loves when her family is here especially when they get to babysit her while we go out and go golfing. I am actually starting to like and enjoy playing the sport. But the best part about family being here, she takes great naps!!
we also went to Oregon to visit my family. My little brother absolutely loved Madison, and she absolutley loved the dog. lol. The do not so much. Good thing Madi isnt mobile yet or the dog would have been in trouble.

oh so funny

This week Grandma Rogers came to visit. She definitely wore Madison out or was it the other way around either way they both took really good naps, haha. Mom said she has never seen a baby with this much energy to go go go (and she doesnt even crawl yet)...... oh my. She does have alot of energy, no wonder i am so tired by the time she goes to bed, I have just never noticed. While she was here I was able to get things done, and have someone to talk to during the day, which is always nice. Not that I don't have people to talk to, but moms are different. Thanks mom for a great week.

6 months!!

Image

My baby is 6 months old today! my goodness where has the time gone. She is such a happy girl and we just love her. Here are a few things she can do at 6 months..

-sit up all by herself
-roll over
-scoots on her belly (well she grabs the carpet and pulls herself) towards what she wants
-sleeps through the night all the time...aaahhhh
-holds a bottle

As many of you know I have a love/hate relationship with nursing. so in the last few weeks to my delight Madison has decided not to nurse during the day..It is too dang hot! And I love it. I am down to just morning/night and she loves her bottle, so who am i to get in the way of that.

old lady: oh is that your baby

old lady: how old is she

me: 5 months

old lady: she is so cute, is that your boyfriend with her.

me: no, thats my husband

old lady: husband!! how old are you??

me: 23

old lady: ooooohhhhh (then turns away)

so I am old enough to have a baby just not a husband, what is this world coming to! This has happened 3 times in a week!

Kendra came up this week to see Madison for the first time. (She has been out of the country). Madison just loved her Auntie Kendra, especially pulling her long hair. We spent the 4th at Grand Coulee Dam and watched one pretty good military band and one HORRIBLE biker/redneck band. We watched the Laser light show and the fireworks there too, We were all pretty tired when we got home.

soccer anyone?

ImageImage
Do you think someone in the house likes soccer? Evan has already gotten her 5 soccer balls, so here she comes, well first lets work on the crawling thing......

ImageThis weekend we went to Hoopfest. It is a GIGANTIC basketball tournament here in Spokane. They close all downtown to turn the streets into basketball courts. People come from everywhere. We parked a few blocks away and luckly, and I dont know how this happened our friends played in the courts right next to eachother!! I have never seen anything like it, some NBA stars were even there, it was nuts.

I most definitely don't let my daughter sleep on the floor on a regualr basis. Nope not me. And i most definitely don't let her sleep for 2 hours there that would be wrong of me.

5 months!!!

Image ImageImage

ImageImage
My baby is 5 months old!! I cant believe it! Here are a few things she can do:
She is working on sitting up by herself...she almost has it.
She puts herself to sleep most nights
Sleeps through the night most nights. WAHOO
rolls over once and awhile....
Eats solids
Laughs and laughs all the time.
We just love her and love getting to know her. Her personality is really starting to shine through and we just love it.

oh family

Image Image
Madison loves her chair, i dont quite know what that face is for though. These are pictures from Idaho, Evan's cousins kids and its weird how they seem to look alike. Evan cousin Janean with her 2 month old Braxton. Then there in the car is Cienna she is his cousin Clints daughter. The two stooges are Caden and Ethan which are Ryans kids. We decided Madison looks like them the most, look at that she is already yelling at them. She was so worn out from the weekend that she slept ALL day Wednesday and through the night.

yay for summer!!

Image ImageImageImage
We just love the park, we go EVERY morning at 10 am (well except sunday of course) and exercise for and hour then (well I exercise while she sleeps) then we play in the water. Our friends havent been able to make it this week so they are going to love that the water is turned on now. Madison just laughs and laughs (of course you cant tell because the little turkey never smiles for the camera)
ImageImageImage
We fed Madison her first food this week!! Anyone like squash...or peas....Right away she wanted to help put the spoon in her mouth...now i know she is not wearing a bib but in my defense, she was already dirty so why bother. anyway It is a VERY messy process right now. I love that she wants to help, but dont grab the part of the spoon with all the food on it.. we found out today that she LOVES bananas. How could I have given birth to a child that likes bananas...gross.
ImageImageImage

She is laughing hysterically at Evan in this one but of course I had to take a picture from the side so she wouldn't see me. Every time she saw the camera she would stop. One day I will capture a good smile.

4 month check-up

Madison check up went really well. She only screamed for a few minutes after her shots then fell right to sleep, i guess thats what i get for scheduling them during her n ap time right..hehe. Well here are her stats

Height: 24 1/2 in Percentile: 50th

Weight: 13 1/2 lbs Percentile: 50th

Head: 16 1/2 Percentile: 50th

It seems we have a VERY average child. Thats okay with me.

working out

I have started working out again! Well i guess i have been doing my DVD's but doing it by myself, honestly, dont push myself. Now that the sun is out and its warm Madison and I go on a 1 hr long walk with a friend of ours and her child. So we run to the park (okay okay we lightly jog, lets be honest) walk with them then attempt to jog home. Its made me feel better about myself but i still have a LONG way to go. I still have to lose 15 lbs. There I said it now i actually have to do it. I need to start running without Madison when Evan is home or maybe we can all run together and he can push her. Either way i would like to lose a few pounds a week. So it starts today! My brother gets married June 13th so i need to lose some of it by then!! HERE WE GO!

Evans graduated!!

Image ImageImage

below:Evan and his friend Jo......his graduating class..what a big class.

Madison with her little purse grandma sanders got her.

Yes it's true Evan has graduated with his Master's degree from Gonzaga University in Sports Administration. He has worked so hard and is so glad to be done. He didn't walk for his bachelors but he decided to do it for his Masters. Well now we are all thinking, what was the point. It came his turn, he handed the guy his card, (he happened to be the last one from his degree so he had that sticker on his card) and the guy didn't even read his name, just said "this concludes Sports Management") Umm EXCUSE ME!!! Evan stood there for a minute then they moved him forward. They all knew that they screwed up but somehow the guy didn't feel it necessary to go back to the card and read his name. Oh we were all mad!!!! His Parents are writing a letter to the school and already talked to them in person! Way to go Carl! Anyway it was hurtful but what can we do about it now. He still has graduated in 15 months, because of him they are making it so you have to take 2 years to do it. Good job babe. I love you.

I would post the video but I dont know how so we I will have Evan do it when he has a minute.

We also celebrated mothers day. Being my first mothers day it made me appreciate my mother even more and everything she has had to do. I can't believe she traveled by herself with 3 of us. I truley love being a mom and couldnt ask for a better little family.

oh what a weekend

On the first weekend in May, our baby girl had surgery. She was born with a hemangioma on her libia (her private area). The doctors said it should just go away and shouldn't bother her.

For the last few weeks she has had this blood curtling scream and we had no idea what was wrong. So I took her to a doctor, not her doctor he wasnt available, but another one who said she had an ear infection....well the weekend went by and still nothing it got even worse. During her bath I noticed that this hemangioma wasn't looking normal, but who was i to judge what was normal or not. Monday morning rolls around and I promptley take her to her doctor. And he said there is NO ear infection. He looked at the hemangioma and it was pussy and an open wound by now and decided he wanted it removed. Thats what was causing all the pain.

So after a few phone calls he found the ONLY doctor in Spokane that would do it on a child do young. We just had to wait a week.....okay whats one more week. The day of teh surgery rolls around and i cant feed her for 6 hours before because she has to be under anastesia. That was painful for both of us. By the time they came and got her we were both crying and Evan didnt know that to do with himself.

Doctor Elizabeth Petersen was so amazing, she is a perfectionist and is so personable. We couldn't have asked for a better doctor.

The transformation even the same afternoon she had the surgery her personality was so different, she became this happy child that could move freely with very minimal pain (im sure the stitches bothered her) it was amazing!! I actually dont dread changing her diaper now, instead of her screaming in pain she just smiles at me. It is something i am VERY grateful for.
Another bonus is she now only wakes us once sometimes twice during the night instead of 6 or more times. YAY!!!!

Madison's blessing/ Easter weekend

We went to Idaho this past Easter weekend for Ron's graduation and Madison's baby blessing. We split the trip up on the way there that way Madison slept the whole time. She was so happy when we finally got there. Great-Grandma Foster came over to see her and they loved eachother, Madison was smiling and kicking so much. When her Grandma Sanders came home from work she bolted right toward her, well by that time she was tired and started crying. (Just her luck right). The next day we had friends over, Evan's best friend and family came over and Brooklyn (she will be 3 soon) played pickaboo with Madison for a while and loved to hang around Uncle Evan. We went to a rodeo Friday night with them while Grandma babysat, when we got home they were both past out, I guess it had been a hard night.(she gets really cranky at night). Friday morning we went to my brother Ron's graduation from BYU-Idaho and I finally met his fiance'. After my mom took us to Texas Roadhouse, I was so impressed with Evan, he got steak and ribs and did not get it on his shirt, aren't you impressed. Madison slept through all of it, so thats for the best. That night we had friends over and it is always fun to see the guys together, this time comparing, you said it MINIVANS. After all a minivan is like a truck.............hmmm..... Sunday was her blessing day. I think she knew it too. She was such a good girl the whole time and looked super cute in her dress. It was really a special Easter Sunday surrounded by family and friends. oh and MADISON ROLLED OVER ALL BY HERSELF. since then she has only gotten half way but she is working on it. At least she is SMILING all the time now, it's so fun!!!!
