	Editorial / Book Design

BRIEF:This project is a newsprint publication based on the 50th Anniversary of The Beatles’ last album, The Abbey Road. The spreads include a timeline, an article about The Beatles, the songs on the last album, and all of the albums they ever released.CHALLENGE:The challenge for this project was to organize and display information about The Beatles in an interesting way. I wanted to use as many elements from the front cover as I could. SOLUTION:After many iterations, the crosswalk element of the cover really stuck out to me. I ended up using the crosswalk as a design element to organize and separate the information better. Many of the colors were taken from the cover and muted. The images also had some grain and texture to show some age on them.

	Print Design / Postcard DesignBRIEF:This was a small project done for one of my clients, Tender. Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Tender is a new company focusing on plant-based meats. They are a new company looking to get feedback from consumers who try out their plant-based meats and asked me to design a postcard that would be handed out to consumers. CHALLENGE:The client had asked me to design an eye-catching postcard that would be handed out to consumers at a restaurant. The goal of the postcard was to be informational and for them to get more&#38;nbsp; feedback, as they are still in developing. I was given a brand identity, all photos, typography, and colors. SOLUTION:I used some of the more stronger, bold copy to my advantage and combined it with some of the more direct photos. I had suggested to the client that one side be more photography-based and the other side more informational.

	Logo Design / Typography

BRIEF:Creating a logo for my brand that will be placed as a unique marker for my website and resume. CHALLENGE:The challenge for this project was doing as many sketches I could until there was one logo or look that stuck. SOLUTION:In the past, I had only thought about my English name. But then I saw this sign from one of my favorite dessert cafes combine both Korean and Latin letters. I thought this was a good idea to represent my Korean-American background. I played around with sketching and ultimately chose the logo that you see at the top of my website and resume. This project is still in progress as I have plans to incorporate this into a seperate poster and motion piece.

BRIEF:This project was an animation music video for JAWNY’s new song Boy Scout. This project would brand future music videos for JAWNY. CHALLENGE:The challenge for this project was to create a brand that would not outshine the animation but go hand in hand with it. The idea was to create something playful, not too rigid and static but not too childish.SOLUTION:The solution was to create a type that had some playful features, such as cute serifs and leaving most letters all caps, minus a few exceptions.

BRIEF:This project was an animation music video for JAWNY’s new song Running. This project would brand future music videos for JAWNY. CHALLENGE:The challenge for this project was to create a brand that would not outshine the animation but go hand in hand with it. The idea was to create something playful, not too rigid and static but not too childish.SOLUTION:The solution was to create a type that had some playful features, such as cute serifs and leaving most letters all caps, minus a few exceptions.

	Brand Identity
BRIEF:This project was done for Typography II class under the supervision of June Shin. This project was called “REVERSE,” where we picked a typeface and studied it, and then created an event. The typeface that I chose was GT Haptik and created a festival called the Rhode Island Music Festival. The festival would be taken place at night, full of neon lights. The identity is dispersed into different forms: mobile, merchandise, a ticket pass, and a brochure, which also functions as a map and poster.
The motivation for this festival was coming from the typeface and how fun the rotalic versions were. It reminded me a lot about music, hence the creation of a music festival, with the primary colors of a bright neon pink, a yellow-green, black, and white.
