As a Christmas-time activity, my family decided to go ice skating yesterday. We thought it would be fun to go to the outdoor rink they have at Horton Plaza – in downtown San Diego.
The only time I had ever been ice skating outside before was years ago – in Utah and at night. It was a bit cold… This time we decided that we should go to the 12:30 to 2:30 secession since Audrey was coming for her first skating experience (OK – she really just hung out in her stroller…) and we wanted to keep her warm…

Chris, Audrey and I are in San Diego visiting my parents for Christmas. My brother Ben, sister Charity and her husband Jared are also here. Sadly Sam and his family could not make it 😦
As a stocking stuffer Mom offered to watch Audrey while we all saw a movie. Since all the reviews indicate that the movie to see right now is Avatar IMax in 3D – We decided to go today – Monday to a 12:05 showing – I thought it was early enough that we would be able to get tickets – but Chris said that we should buy tickets beforehand – he was right… When we got to the theater we discovered that all showings until 10pm this evening were already sold out (before we give Chris too much credit I should point out that it was only a passing comment).
Anyhow, since we couldn’t see the movie we needed something else to do…
