Today was our final Sunday in Paris. We enjoyed attending the Paris ward for the fourth straight Sunday, everyone there has been so nice and welcoming each week – including the other tourists.

At home we were treated to a feast that Chris and Steve had planned:

So when I woke up Saturday morning, I was feeling much better, but still a bit off.  Between playing with Audrey (Chris) and napping (me and Audrey), and then research (Chris) it was a bit late as we left the house.  Chris had started not feeling so well, so, determined not to repeat the Pringles incident of the day before, we set out for a farmers market.

So the last few days have been kind of a blur. Chris and Steve went to Germany on Wednesday early and returned on Thursday evening. In the meantime Audrey took several LONG naps and so did I – partly because I managed to get sick (boo!!) Alie got me medicine (thanks Alie!!) We went shopping – to loads of places – and bought nothing (sad). Overall I was very happy when Chris got back…

Audrey just loves playing with Emmie and Maddie.  She laughs at them and often wants to do just what they are doing.  So this morning when Emmie was enjoying her pacifier – Audrey just had to join in.

She was actually stealing Emmie’s from her – so I dug out her old one (unused in MONTHS). She didn’t so much suck on it as chew – but whatever…

When we discovered that there was a 75% chance of rain today – starting midday and continuing into evening, the Disneyland Paris plan was dashed. Instead we decided to head out and climb to the top of Notre Dame.

Today for almost the first time in our vacation it really felt like August. We woke up to clear skies, and clear they stayed – all day. It was the sort of day where you were sweating and uncomfortably hot in the sun, but when you stepped into the shade it was bliss!

Sadly yesterday aquaboulevard was a no go.  It turns out that not only do they require men to wear a speedo type suit, but also they do not allow children under 3.  Yes, you read that correctly.  Not ‘children are only allowed in part of the park’, or ‘children are not allowed in the waterside area’, but they are not allowed at all!  How is that possible?  We wondered (and had Alie call to confirm 3 times) in vain.

So Alie and Maddie went and represented us at Aquaboulevard.  The rest of us worked, shopped (I found a great purse) and ate awesome Ice Cream!

Today was a day of redemption; we did everything that we were planning to do yesterday and got rained out of.

This morning the forecast stated a 20% chance of rain. We figured that 20% is pretty low and so headed out to one of the largest Parks in Paris (Bois de Boulogne – sort of over by the Arc de Triumphe) to play and rent bikes to ride around the lakes in the park – seriously its a really large park.

Anyhow, this morning, Steve started singing this song – Brown girl in the rain (We had heard it Sunday when we watched ‘touching the void’ – the main guy thinks he is going to die with this song stuck in his head. I remember really liking it at the time, but now I kind of understand).

– it turned out to be both annoying (it got stuck in all of our heads, so all day someone will randomly start singing, whistling or humming it) and sadly predictive… (Turns out it is really Brown girl in the RING – oh well…) Read the rest of this entry »

After a full day of rain yesterday and a forecast of it again today, we decided that our plans had better be rain-proof.  We decided to avoid the rain and instead brave the crowds and visit the Musee de Lourve.
