We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas this year. We spent Christmas Eve over at Gene and Sue's house. The kids had a blast sledding and playing with their cousins. We came home with more gifts than we knew what to do with (Surprise Surprise)!!! Anyways, Mady woke up especially early to see if Santa had stopped by. She was very patient and waited until her brother woke up so we wouldn't have a "bad day"! The kids loved opening presents and eating lots of candy!

Pictures with Santa

We braved the mall and the weather today to go visit Santa. Mady was able to give him her letter that she wrote for him at school. Cade asked for candy and a dirt bike and Mady asked for a house that talks and answers questions. We might be taking up a fund for these extravagant gifts!!!!! But, I'm sure they will be happy with whatever Santa brings them.

Mady's Christmas Program
Mady had her first Christmas Program. It was so much fun to go see her perform. They sang about 10 Christmas Songs. My normal video camera wasn't charged so I had to use my small camera, so the picture or recording aren't that great. She did so good and loved seeing all of her family there to support her. Cade loved it too, he was trying to imitate everything that his sister did. Afterwards, we got to have frito pie with her class. And for all those who are wanting a belly picture, Brice had me and Cade pose with our bellies. His is much cuter though. Only 25 more days to go! Yippee!!

Pictures Of Our New House
I've had people ask about our new house so I thought I'd take a few pictures. We are pretty much settled in, with a few boxes here and there. And against Brice's wishes, there is still more decorating to do. Too many bare walls!

Here are a couple shots of our kitchen and frontroom.

And here are a few pictures of Mady and Sadie's room, Cade's room and their bathroom.

I didn't take a picture of my closet though, I'm waiting to pack the maternity clothes away and free up some space for some fun new clothes, but I will say that my closet is awesome. It is the first time since we've been married that Brice and I can actually share the same closet, instead of having them in seperate rooms. I joke around that our builder didn't know who he was taking to when he was being nice and said I could design all of the closets in the house. He probably thought they would be pretty simple, but I spent a couple hours planning and designing, mine and the kids closets. It was so much fun!
Here is my Laundry Room/Office. We were short one room so we combined. One thing is for sure if I work to much, I'll smell like detergent!

Christmas Anticipation
The first night we set up the tree the kids were so excited they wanted to sleep by it. Their Grandma Sue Sue bought them each their own cot and so they wanted to try them out. Needless to say their mom is a stick in the mud. It was a school night for Mady and Cade has yet to sleep in a bed (without some sort of railing) without falling out multiple times during the night. So I let them watch a movie instead. They still had a great time!

What's Wrong With One-Pieces?
Well all of my family got to come visit for Thanksgiving. It was a fun way to break in the new home. There was my mom and dad, Christina, Adam, Aaron, Michael, Nathan, Alexis, Jaxon, Chandler, Delanie, Gracie, Elise (Michael's girlfriend), Michelle (Aaron's girlfriend) and our family. It was a packed house, but it was a blast. The only bad thing is that I was awful at taking pictures. So I'm waiting for my family to send me some of theirs. Anyways, some of you may have seen my sweet one-piece mechanic outfit for Halloween. I thought I would give you the pleasure of seeing the true culprit in the one-piece fiasco. It's my brother Aaron's. Anyways, Gene and Sue bought a one-piece Camo suit for Cade when they went to Africa, so I couldn't pass up the opportunity of having them both model them for me. You got to love the one-piece. Oh, and by the way, I'll save you from having to look at the backside view. This is a family blog!

Happy Halloween
For Halloween this year, Mom got her way again. I love doing themed costumes. Mady really wanted to be a witch, but was pleasantly surprised when everyone around her told her how much they loved the Cindy Lou Who costume. Cade loved being the Grinch also, just because he got to tell everyone that he was a Grinch and that meant he got to steal every one's candy. For me there weren't too many options. It was either a pregnant nun or a pot belly mechanic. I chose the mechanic since my brother had this sweet one piece suit. Thanks again Aaron, it was a hit. We hit two trunk-or-treat hot spots and Grandma Rosalies and called it a night. Oh, and I forgot to mention, Tinkerbell was Max, the Grinch's dog with an antler tied to her head. It didn't stay on long though!

Happy 6th Birthday Mady!
We celebrated Mady's 6th Birthday with a lot of family and friends. She started her day with a birthday pancake. At school, she got to wear a crown and Dad, Cade and I went to her class and let her hand out ice cream sandwiches. After her soccer practice, we had a fun time cooking hot dogs outside in the fire pit for her party. Afterwards, we all came in and opened presents and ate cake and ice cream. The kids were thoroughly worn out. Mady said it was her best birthday ever (which I think I've heard every year)! Her family and friends that got to come were, Papa, SueSue, Jason, Sheree, Braden, JJ, Hannah, Paul, Jessica, Lawsyn, Brody, Grandma Rosalie, Landin, Harlie, Shanelle, Mark, Traci, Coy, Kalyn, Drew, Shea, Shane, Ashley, and Aiden. She also had lots of phone calls from all of her extended family. Thank you everyone for making her 6th birthday such a happy one!!!

My Little Punkin's Carving Pumpkins
Mady has been on every one's case for the last week and a half to carve pumpkins, so finally we did it. It was a lot of fun. Cade was a little standoffish about putting his hand inside to dig out the seeds, but Mady dug right in. We had a great time, although Dad was mentally missing in action (busy watching the Texas game).

Shrapnel Anyone
Brice had a week long in-service training and while he was out on the shooting range a piece of shrapnel flew up from another range and hit him in the arm. He was pretty lucky though, he said it had enough force to move his whole arm when it hit. Good thing it wasn't an eye! Anyways, it was bleeding like crazy. When he got home he cleaned it up as best as he could and covered it with a band-aid, of course after probably loosing a pint of blood! I wasn't much help though. I had to sit down after watching him stick a q-tip inside it to stop the bleeding and clean it out. He's a mess!

Tepanyaki Time!
For Christina's Birthday my great dad treated the family to dinner at our favorite restaurant. It was so much fun, the only downfall was not being able to eat as much as I wanted due to the enlarged belly! Afterwards, Christina and Brian bought everyone a frozen yogurt from Yoasis. It was soooo yummy, too bad they don't have one here. I'll have to look into buying into the franchise or maybe just experimenting on how to make it myself!

Potty Training My Own Way
Well, Brice and I have been working really hard with Cade over the last month to potty train. Easier said than done. We tried everything from candy, cars, toy guns, and dirt bike rides with Grampy and the Uncles. He has his own way of doing everything! He didn't have an accident for almost three weeks and then he decided this whole potty training thing is too much work. When it came down to missing a ride on the dirt bike he'd say, "I no stink, I shake a shower!" So he decided to go back to wearing diapers. I think he probably got tired of me asking him every 15 minutes if he needed to go potty. Like always everything is on his terms. Anyways, we are going to drop the subject for a few months and try again later.

Parade Day
Mady was in the Aztec Tiger's Homecoming Parade with her soccer team. She had a blast throwing candy to the crowd. When we were walking to the parade start she made a comment, "Mom, there sure are a lot of people who like the Hornets (her Soccer team)." I didn't have the heart to tell her that most of the people were there for the football team. Anyways, she loved every second of it. Cade had a ball too, he was just so excited that people were throwing candy to him, he was in heaven.

A Work In Progress

Well, I wanted to take some pictures of the progress on our house. They have been working on it for a few weeks now. It's nice to see actual walls up. I'll keep you all posted on what's happening. Mady has made it her business to make sure they are working on it every day. When I drive her to school we always drive past it and she notes what has changed. The other day she went out there with her dad and started chewing Jason (Uncle and Framer) out about why his guys were just standing around and not working while all the other houses that were being built had people working on them. Needless to say the next day Jason called to talk to the "Superintendent" to make sure everything was up to speed!
Mady's First Soccer Game

Mady had her first Soccer Game Saturday. She had a great time even though her team lost. She is learning the game really quickly with practices twice a week. She is a little concerned about all the pushing and shoving that goes on during practices and the game. She got two different responses, Mom has always said that we don't push and Dad said she needs to push more. I guess dad wins this battle after watching how aggressive the other kids are. It's going to take some training though! Like SueSue said maybe she should just stand in front of the boys and bat her eyelashes. Mom is on the same train of thought. When I signed her up for soccer my first question was, "What color is the uniform? We need to make bows!" Dad's response to that was, "How about she learns to play the game first."
