Letter VII by Oliver Cowdrey says the Hill Cumorah was in New York. What did Mormon say?

Letter VII by Oliver Cowdery;
Letter VII is found in Joseph Smith Papers (search on-line for Joseph Smith Papers).  Oliver Cowdery clearly identifies the hill Cumorah in New York as the place where both the Nephite army lead by Mormon, and the Jaredite Army lead by Coriantumr were destroyed.  Letter VII was copied into Joseph Smith’s Journal.  Is Oliver Cowdery quoting God?  Did God reveal to Oliver Cowdery where the Hill Cumorah of The Book of Mormon was located?  If I can trust Dallin Oaks, then the Lord has not revealed to LDS prophets where the lands of The Book of Mormon are located.  I asked Elder Oaks to stop the “nasty contention” concerning the land area where The Book of Mormon happened.  Elder Oaks restated the position of our Church.  The Lord has not revealed where the lands of the Book of Mormon are located.  The Church has no position on this issue.
I served as a missionary in Denmark (from summer 1956 until December 1959), and I presented a film strip called “Ancient America Speaks.”  Mayan and Inca ruins were shown in this presentation.  Back then, our Danish missionaries were using the ruins in Latin America as evidence for “The Book of Mormon.”  When I returned to Brigham Young University, I went to see Wells Jakeman, Chairman of the Archaeology Department (now extinct).  I was considering being an archaeologist.  I wanted to prove scientifically the truth of The Book of Mormon.  Wells Jakeman asked if I wanted to raise a family?  I said yes.  He told me that spending my life in the jungles of Latin America was no place for a husband and father.  However, I have proved to myself on the basis of the facts, said book is true.

David O. McKay authorized $250,000 for archaeological research (under the direction of Thomas Ferguson) in Central America (Warren and Ferguson “The Messiah in Ancient America” p. 265), and Apostle LeGrand Richard said the following: No wonder they can find ruins of cities and cement highways as they delve into the depths of the earth down in that land of South and Central America where these people (Nephites & Lamanites) settled (April 1976 General Conference talk).

The opinions of Church leaders have ranged from New York to Peru, and some would put the lands on an island.
What does it matter, my daughter says: “I know the book is true?”  However, Richard Packham, in review of a book I wrote about the lands described by Mormon, said: “…if we could locate the places where events in the “Lord of The Rings” trilogy took place, we could then believe the trilogy was actual history.”  Hence, “The Lord of the Rings” is fiction, and “The Book of Mormon” is fiction.
Because we cannot agree among ourselves, I had no chance of helping Richard Packham or any other unbeliever.  Quoting Oliver Cowdery and Joseph Smith proves nothing to unbelievers.  The Book of Mormon must be scientifically accurate.  Providing this proof has been my lifetime objective, and I have the scientific proof I need.
The Church does have a position: The twelve Articles of Faith are the position of the Church: “We believe ‘The Book of Mormon’ to be the word of God.”  Any theory that conflicts with the Word of God can be discarded, regardless of who said it.
Where did Lehi land:Now, the more idle part of the Lamanites lived in the wilderness, and dwelt in tents; and they were spread through the wilderness on the west, in the land of Nephi; yea, and also on the west of the land of Zarahemla, in the borders by the seashore, and on the west in the land of Nephi, in the place of their fathers' first inheritance, and thus bordering along by the seashore (Alma 22: 27).  Lehi crossed a salt sea, so the land of first inheritance was by the west salt sea.  Lehi did not land at the Great Lakes.  The Pacific Ocean appears to be the west sea where Lehi landed.  The lands of Nephi, Bountiful and Desolation bordered the salt sea where Lehi landed, and Zarahemla was near to the west salt sea: (Alma 22: 27-32). And it came to pass that the king sent a proclamation throughout all the land, amongst all his people who were in all his land, who were in all the regions round about, which was bordering even to the sea, on the east and on the west, and which was divided from the land of Zarahemla by a narrow strip of wilderness, which ran from the sea east even to the sea west, and round about on the borders of the seashore, and the borders of the wilderness which was on the north by the land of Zarahemla, through the borders of Manti, by the head of the river Sidon, running from the east towards the west—and thus were the Lamanites and the Nephites divided. 28 “Now, the more idle part of the Lamanites lived in the wilderness, and dwelt in tents; and they were spread through the wilderness on the west, in the land of Nephi; yea, and also on the west of the land of Zarahemla, in the borders by the seashore, and on the west in the land of Nephi, in the place of their fathers' first inheritance, and thus bordering along by the seashore. 29 And also there were many Lamanites on the east by the seashore, whither the Nephites had driven them. And thus the Nephites were nearly surrounded by the Lamanites; nevertheless the Nephites had taken possession of all the northern parts of the land bordering on the wilderness, at the head of the river Sidon, from the east to the west, round about on the wilderness side; on the north, even until they came to the land which they called Bountiful. 30 And it bordered upon the land which they called Desolation, it being so far northward that it came into the land which had been peopled and been destroyed, of whose bones we have spoken, which was discovered by the people of Zarahemla, it being the place of their first landing” (Alma 22: 27-30).  The lands in question bordered a salt sea on the west, obviously the Pacific Ocean, not one of the Great Lakes.
In the book “Jesus The Christ” by James Talmage, on page 18 and page 742, we read that the land of Desolation was probably found in Mesoamerica.  The Hill Ramah is the same as the Hill Cumorah (Ether 15: 11 & Mormon 6: 6).  Coriantumr (the last Jaredite king) pitched his tent at the Hill Cumorah (Ramah).  Then he gathered his people, apparently to Cumorah (Ether 15: 7-12), and they were killed at or near to the Hill Cumorah.  The Jaredites (people of Coriantumr) lived in the land that the Nephites called Desolation (Alma 22: 30).  Prophets foretold that the land of the Jaredites (Desolation) would be covered with the bones of the dead (Ether 11: 6). The scouts sent by King Limhi found the bones of the dead Jaredites at or near to the Hill Ramah (Cumorah) in the Land of Desolation when they found the 24 plates of Ether at or near to the Hill Ramah (Cumorah) (Ether 15: 33). The scouts of King Limhi, from the land of First Inheritance by the west sea, did not travel from the Pacific Ocean to New York to find a land that was littered with the bones of men and animals (Mosiah 8: 8). These scouts brought a record with them, even a record of the people whose bones they found (Mosiah 21: 27). Ether made the record and was present at the Hill Cumorah (Ramah) in the Land of Desolation when the Jaredites were destroyed there, and he left the record with the intent that the scouts sent by King Limhi would find it (Ether 15: 11-33). The Hill Cumorah where Ether left his record was in the Land of Desolation where the Jaredites were destroyed.  James Talmage reports that the land of Desolation was found in Mesoamerica, and it is unlikely that the land of Desolation was located near the Great Lakes, because the people of Zarahemla (Mulekites) crossed a salt sea and landed in the land of Desolation (Alma 22: 30), and the land of Desolation bordered the west sea (Alma22: 32), the same west salt sea where Lehi landed (Alma 22: 28).  So, try to fit these lands at the Great Lakes.  The Great Lakes are not salt seas.
Regardless, James Talmage reports on page 260 (paperback) of his book, “The Articles of Faith,” that the hill Cumorah where the Nephites were destroyed was located in New York.

Where did the Stripling soldiers live?  They lived with their parents in Melek (Alma 35: 13).  Melek was located west of the River Sidon (Alma 8: 3).  Where is the river Sidon?  See page 730 in the 1981 issue of The Book of Mormon.  The river Sidon is said to be the Mississippi. Regardless of where the river is located, Helaman marched from Melek south to the west sea: “And now it came to pass that Helaman did march at the head of his two thousand stripling soldiers, to the support of the people in the borders of the land on the south by the west sea” (Alma 53: 22).  Helaman and the Stripling Soldiers did not march north and east to the Great Lakes from any Melek located west of the Mississippi river. They marched south to the west sea.  Because The Book of Mormon is true, the Great lakes have nothing to do with the lands where the Stripling Soldiers fought their battles.

Helaman arrived with his army at Judea (Alma 5: 9).  Judea was near to Antaparah where Antipus was killed.  The Lamanites had taken the cities of Manti, Zeezorom, Cumeni, and Antiparah (Alma 56: 14).  Antiparah was near the west sea (Alma 56: 31 & Alma 52- 11 & 56: 9).  Manti was located by the head of the river Sidon (Alma 22: 27), and Manti was located in the general area of Judea and Antiparah near the west sea.  Manti was also within marching distance of Nephihah near the east sea, for neither durst they (Lamanites from Manti) march down against the city of Zarahemla, neither durst they cross the head of the river Sidon over to the city of Nephihah (Alma 56: 25).  Mormon tells us that the city of Nephihah was near the east sea near the city of Moroni (Alma 50: 13-14).  Hence, Antiparah, the west sea, Manti, the head of the Sidon, Nephihah, and the east sea were all within marching distance for the Lamanites stationed in the cities they had taken from the Nephites.  The lands described by Mormon fit in Mesoamerica, but I do not understand how they fit in the Heartland of the USA (see Richard Hauck “Deciphering the Geography of The Book of Mormon” pp. xii-xiv).

Where was the city of Zarahemla located? It was located no more than 21 days journey from the west salt sea where Lehi landed:
1     I, Zeniff, having been taught in all the language of the Nephites, and having had a knowledge of the land of Nephi, or of the land of our fathers’ first inheritance, and having been sent as a spy among the Lamanites that I might spy out their forces, that our army might come upon them and destroy them—but when I saw that which was good among them I was desirous that they should not be destroyed…6 And I went in unto the king, and he covenanted with me that I might possess the land of Lehi-Nephi, and the land of Shilom (Heleman 9: 1 & 6).  As explained above, the land of first inheritance bordered the west salt sea, considered by most BYU archaeologists to be the Pacific Ocean.

King Noah was the son of Zeniff, and Alma was a priest of King Noah.  Alma lived in the Land of First Inheritance.  When Alma traveled to Zarahemla it took him 8 days (Mosiah 23: 3), 1 day (Mosiah 24: 20, and 12 days (Mosiah 24: 25).  It took Alma 21 days, to travel from the Land of First Inheritance by the west salt sea to Zarahemla, traveling with flocks and children.  Alma could cover little more than 10 miles a day.  Obviously, the land of Zarahemla was not much more than 200 miles from the west salt sea.  Again, Lehi lived in the Land of First Inheritance by the west salt sea. Lehi did not land at the Great Lakes!

Mormon was driven out of the Land of Zarahemla to the north and to the west sea (Mormon 2: 3-6).  Mormon went to the Hill Shim and made a record (Mormon 1: 3 & 2-17).  Eventually, as the war wore on, the Lamanites gave Mormon the Land of Desolation located north of the narrow pass, and Mormon gave the Land of Bountiful and the land south of the narrow pass to the Lamanites (Mormon 2: 29).  The narrow pass was near the west sea (Alma 63: 5), apparently the Pacific Ocean.  The city of Desolation was near to the narrow pass (Mormon 3: 5).  Mormon’s army fortified this pass (Mormon: 3: 6).  The Lamanites apparently overran this pass and took the city of Desolation by the west sea (Mormon 4: 2-3).  Then, the Nephites fled to the nearby city of Teancum by the seashore (Ibid).  This seashore was the west seashore (Alma 22: 32 & 63: 5).  Mormon went to the hill Shim and got the records deposited there by Ammaron: “I Mormon seeing that the Lamanites were about to overthrow the land, therefore I did go to the hill Shim and take up all the records…” (Mormon 4: 23).  The Hill Shim where Mormon took up these records was within reasonable traveling distance of the narrow pass by the west sea, and the Hill Cumorah appears to have been located near to the hill Shim: for, Omer…came over and passed by the hill of Shim and came over by the place where the Nephites were destroyed (the Hill Cumorah) (Ether 9: 3).  So, the west sea, the narrow pass, the Hill Shim, and the Hill Cumorah appear to have been in the same area, within reasonable traveling distance of the Pacific Ocean.
It is many hundreds of miles between the west salt sea where Lehi landed (Alma 22: 28) and the Hill Cumorah in New York.  Therefore, it is very unlikely that Mormon went from the Pacific Coast to a Hill Shim located near to the hill we call Cumorah in New York to get the records hidden by Ammaron (Mormon 2: 17), then back to the narrow pass to fight Lamanites (Mormon 2: 20-29). Then later, Mormon buried the records he took from the Hill Shim in the nearby hill he called Cumorah (Mormon 6: 6).  Cumorah, New York appears to be too far away from the Pacific seacoast.  The Hill Vigia in Southern Mexico appears to be the hill Mormon called Cumorah (Richard Hauck Deciphering the Geography of The Book of Mormon p. 150, Youtube  In search of Cumorah” the video,  David Palmer “In Search of Cumorah”  p. 245,  Allen, Exploring the Lands of The Book of Mormon”p.192).
I have written much more on this subject, found on-line.  Many references from the word of God discount the Heartland and Great Lakes theories.  If the reader wants to know more, follow President Benson’s advice: Read The Book of Mormon.  Pay attention to the geographic references provided by Mormon and Either.  Then you will be able to fit The Book of Mormon on the land.  Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery could not have possibly concocted said book.  The cultures, resources, and geography fit in Mesoamerica.  They do not work in the USA.  Mormon, Nephi, and Ether wrote most of the book,  Oliver Cowdery was only a scribe. There were no revisions and editing by Oliver.  Like most of us, the Lord uses the weak things of the earth to do his work, and we all mistakes, but the truth in The Book of Mormon will last forever. Trust the word of God.  It is the position of the Church.

Where Are the Lands of The Book of Mormon?

Where Are The Lands of The Book of Mormon?

Opinions of Latter-day Saints concerning the location of the lands of The Book of Mormon are scattered from South America to the Hill Cumorah in New York.  There is no consensus of opinion.

Regardless, The Book of Mormon is the position of the Church, and the geography and cultures described in this book must be the standard for identifying the lands and cultures presented by Nephi, Mormon, Moroni, and Ether.  Theories that conflict with the content of The Book of Mormon can not be correct.  However, there are many Mormons that as part of their testimonies are determined to fit a large square peg into a small round hole based on traditional beliefs reported to have been presented by historic Mormon leaders.

The fact is that, the "Church" has no position as to where the lands of The Book of Mormon are located.. This being the case, then statements and opinions of historic Church leaders are not conclusive.  Nevertheless, statements and opinions of historic prophets are cherished by believers.    Reportedly Joseph Smith said that there were Nephites and Lamanites in the Hearland of the USA.  Consequently, some are sure that the events recorded in The Book of Mormon occurred in the Great Plains and north to the Hill Cumorah in New York,  Nephites and Lamanites may have lived in South America or in Canada, so why is the Heartland of the USA the right place?

Some have found evidence in South America that supports The Book of Mormon, and they tend to hold fast to South America as the right place.

On the other hand, LDS scientists have firmly established the relationship between the geography recorded in The Book of Mormon and Mesoamerica.

The lands of The Book of Mormon fit well in Mesoamerica (Hauck, F. Richard; Deciphering The Geography of The Book of Mormon, printed by Deseret Book, Salt Lake City, Utah, 1988. p. xii).

Regardless of scientific evidence, believers report that Joseph Smith said or wrote that the Nephites and Lamanites were found in the Heartland of the USA.  Remember, the LDS Church has no position as to the location of the lands of The Book of Mormon, so quoting historic LDS prophets is not conclusive. The geography presented in The Book of Mormon is conclusive.

It is apparent that the lands of The Book of Mormon were not in the United States of America because:

There were no major battles fought among the natives of the Great Plains before 1050 AD (Pauketat, Timothy R., Cahokia, Viking, Penguin Group, 375 Hudson Street, New York, N. Y., USA, 2009. p. 165).

Moreover, the archaeological data from the area of Palmyra, New York is not consistent with the cultures presented in The Book of Mormon. There were no great cities, no towers for worship, little metallurgy, no formal political state, and no organized religion. There was very little craft development, limited agriculture, no formal written language, and no calendar, in that area (Palmer, David A. In Search of Cumorah, Horizon Publishers and Printers, August 1984. P. O. Box 490, 50 South 500 West, Bountiful, Utah 84010. pp 86-87.)

Discounting The Book of Mormon is popular, but the geography presented in the book fits well in Mesoamerica. The city of Moroni of The Book of Mormon appears to be inundated under the Caribbean Sea, just east of Lake Izabal. The Cuchumatanes must be the narrow strip of wilderness that ran in a straight line from the east sea to the west sea. The Grijalva River and the Usumacinta River both head out in the Cuchumantes (mountains) and run north to the sea. LDS scientists are divided on which of these rivers is the river Sidon of The Book of Mormon.  Paredon Viejo appears to be the fortification built by General Mormon's troops. Paredon Viejo is located on the south side of the Iathmus of Tehuantepec. The hill "Xim" pronounced Shim in the Mayan language appears to the hill Shim of The Book of Momon, located on the west and north side of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, and the hill Vigia located nearby is presented by nearly all Latter-day Saint scientists as the hill Cumorah of The Book of Mormon. Careful study of these issues has proved to me that The Book of Mormon is faithful beyond all opposition, and I doubt that any open minded person that will do his homework can come to any other conclusion.

I have proved to myself of the bases of the facts that Mesoamerica is the right place. and I have written the book: Where in the Americas are the Lands of The Book of Mormomn. Free copies of this book may be obtained by contacting me.  [email protected].

Climate change anyone? Global Warming?

Carbonic acid in air combines with rain water to form H2CO3.  H2CO3 erodes limestone, releasing carbon dioxide into the water + calcium hydroxide Ca(OH)2.  Shell fish in the ocean apparently convert CA(OH)2 into limestone, CA(CO)3 (shellfish combine carbon + oxygen with calcium to form limestone). Photosysthysis also balances carbon. Plants and shellfish remove carbon from the envoronment.

When it comes to carbon being released by nature into the environment, volcanos relese carbon.  Plants and animals and all life forms release carbon when they "burn" cabohydrates.  Also, carbonic acid in rain water combines with limestone to release carbon from the limestone rock.  Limestone is very abundent world wide, and carbonic acid in rain water impacts much of it, releasing carbon.

Large amounts of plant and animal material, contining much carbon, are buried each year in the deltas of major rivers, on the bottom of the oceans, and in lakes. Organic matter buried in the ocean eventially becomes oil, tar, and natural gas. The carbon that comes out of you car and our power plants was once buried in the earth, much of it during the Carboniforus Era.  When we burn fuel, the carbon goes back into the air where it came from in the first place. In good time it will again be bound with calcium or buried in the ocean.

I have this question.  How much carbon is in the air and the water today compared to the amount of carbon that was in the air and water in the past?  No one has provided to me an answer to this question that I trust.  Until I have the answer to this question, the issue of global warming is for me, a theory, not a fact.  Yes, I know that glaciers have been melting in Alaska, and ships have made the North West Passage, but at the South Pole, the ice is still there.  I have sumarized here in what I understand about clamate change.  I am a biologist with 38 years of experience, and I question the statments of lesser qualified people that endorse the theory of "global warming." I also question the statement of the unlearned that discount the posiblity of man caused climate change.

I have read that debris and soot, resulitng from air polution, are responsible for the melting of glaciers.

The Time of the Gentiles Appears to be Ending, and Scattered Israel is Being Gathered.

"24 And this I have told you concerning Jerusalem; and when that day shall come (the Romans in 70 A.D. destroyed the Jewish tempile and captured Jerusalem), shall a remnant (of the Jews) be scattered among all nations;
25 But they
(the Jews) shall be gathered again; but they shall remain (in Palestine today?) until the times of the
Gentiles be fulfilled ;

26 And that day shall be heard of wars and rumors of wars, and the whole earth shall be in commotion, and men’s hearts shall fail them, and they shall say that Christ delayeth his coming until the end of the earth.
27 And the love of men shall wax cold, and iniquity shall abound.
28 And when the times of the Gentiles is come in, a light shall break forth among them that sit in darkness, and it shall be the fulness of my gospel
(the restored Church).
29 But they (the Gentiles) receive it not; for they perceive not the light, and they turn their hearts from me (Jesus Christ) because of the precepts of men (so it was written and so it is happening before our very eyes).
30 And in that generation shall the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled" (Doctrine and Covenants Section 45: 24-29).
The gospel would be taken from the Gentiles and given to the remnant of Israel including the Jews.  What can we expect to happen in Palestine?

"2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.

3 ¶And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it...
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the Lord of hosts their God.
6 ¶In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an  hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and  Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem. (I, Eldon, have lived to see the Jews return to Palestine and win wars that were appeared to be impossible for them to win.)
8 In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.
9 ¶And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to  destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn" ( Holy Bible, 'Zechariah' Chapter 12: verses 2,3,5,6,9,10).

The gospel would be restored to the Gentiles and would be taught by the Gentiles to the descendents of Lehi:  Laman, Lemuel, and Nephi:
24 But before the great day of the Lord shall come, Jacob (tribe of Ephraim?) shall flourish in the wilderness, and the Lamanites shall blossom as the rose (See my report in this blog on Native American conversions in Guatemala).
25 Zion shall flourish upon the hills and rejoice upon the mountains (Utah is a Ute Indain name that means: tops of the mountains), and shall be assembled together unto the place which I have appointed (mountains) (Doctrine and Covenants 49: 24-25).  As fortold by the Lord in 1831, the saints have gathered to Utah and are a mighty people.  Also, the Lamanites are blossoming as a rose in Central America.

When the State of Missiouri was killing the Mormons and driving Mormons out of the State of Missouri in the 1840's.  The Lord revealed the following to Joseph Smith: "I prophesied that the saints would continue to suffer much affliction and would be driven to the Rocky Mountains.  Many would apostaatize, many would be put to death by our persecutors...or lose their lives in consequense of exposure or disease, and some of you will...see the saints become a mighty people in the midst of the Rockey Mountains" (History of the Church, Volume 5, p. 85).  Little chance the Saints would be anything but dead or scattered in the 1840's.  I was born in Utah, a son of the pioneers through all of my lines.  The Saints did become a mighty people in the Rocky Montains.  I am one of them.  So it was fortold by the Lord, and so it was done.  My faith is baised on knowledge, common sense, and judgement.  Many base their beliefs on prejudice, desires, or hype.  My belief is based on the facts.

More from the Book of Mormon on Lamanite Conversion in the last days:
"... that in the latter days, when our seed (descendents of Nephi and his brothers, or some of the native Americans) shall have dwindled in unbelief, yea, for the space of many years, and many generations after the  Messiah shall be manifested in body unto the children of men, then shall the fulness of the gospel of the Messiah come unto the Gentiles (restored Church), and from the Gentiles unto the remnant of our seed—(the natives of Guatemela recognize their traditions and history as recorded in the Book of Mormon).
14 And at that day shall the remnant of our seed (some of the American Indains) know that they are of the house of Israel, and that they are the covenant people of the Lord; and then shall they know and  come to the knowledge of their forefathers, and also to the knowledge of the gospel of their Redeemer, which was ministered unto their fathers by him; wherefore, they shall come to the knowledge of their Redeemer and the very points of his doctrine" (Book of Mormon, '1 Nephi' 15: 13-14).  So it was fortold, and so it is being done in Central America..  Missionaries from the Chruch of Jesus Christ are teaching the Native Americans, and they are joining the Church by the thousands.  Today there are fewer converts among the Gentiles.

What happening now in the Church?
"...the Gentiles will be gathered by the thousands to this place, and Salt Lake City will be classed among the wicked cities of the world.  A spirt of speculation and extravagance will take possession of the Saints, and the results will be financial bondage. Persecution comes next, and all true Latter-day Saints will be tested to the limit.  Many will apostatize..." (Heber C. Kimball, as published in the Deseret News, May 23, 1931).  Regardless, the Lamanites will blossom as a rose.

I base my faith on what I know to be true. I know what I have written here in to be true.

What Will Happen to the Environment If Our Government Goes Broke

I am a biologist. My associates and I were successful in restoring the vegetative cover on millions of acres of over grazed, eroding, flood source range lands, but today lands that are too steep for cultivation and were in soil banks are now growing corn for auto fuel. In the Mid-West I have seen erosion coming from lands that are too steep for farming. Shame!!!! Mud in the rivers and flooding.

Every conservationist should read: “Conquest of the Land through 7,000 Years” by W. C. Laudermilk, Assistant Chief, U. S. Soil Conservation Service, found on-line. Chief Laudermilk documents the ruin of resources when governments failed. Forest were cut to extinction. Goats and sheep overgrazed the lands, and the soil eroded away. What will happen to our land if our government spends the USA into bankruptcy?

Lyme Disease, Borrelosis, Masters Disease, Borrelia Infection

LYME DISEASE
I was bitten by a deer tick back in the year 1976 while working on the Mendocino National Forest. A bulls eye rash (Erythema migrans) developed at the site of the rash. I was soon very ill with flu like symptoms, followed with many symptoms too numerous to list in detail. The worst of the symptoms were mental confusion, severe burning and cramping in my gut, joint swelling, muscle pain, tendonitis etc. etc. The doctors told me that no one could have so many problems and symptoms. My blood tests were normal. My urine was normal, and my wife, a Medical Technician checked these regularly.
I saw head shrinks and advisors. I was given different kinds of mood altering drugs. I could not do my work, and my job was in jeopardy.

Finally, Dr. Grant Hurley of Monte Vista, Colorado suspected Lyme disease, and with the help of Drs. Paul Lavoie and Joseph Burrascano, Dr. Hurley obtained positive urine antigen tests for Lyme disease from Igenix Lab. in CA.
Dr. Hurley began to treat me with the antibiotic Doxycyclene. My health improved, and I was able to work and support my family, but each time I went off from antibiotics, my symptoms returned.
In 1976, I contacted what my docter now calls Master’s disease or Borrelosis (a Borrelia infection something like Lyme disease). Now it is 2011. I am still having symptoms.

I have been taking Doxycyclene (an antibiotic) for nearly a year with a herbal remedy called Samento. I thought I was getting better, so I quit taking these remedies in the first week of April 2011, and soon I developed sore muscles in my legs and painful tendons. I experienced severe burning in my lower colon with awful cramping. My knees, hips, shoulders, and left elbow became painful, and I was getting crippled. My eyes burned. Sinus trouble developed. My head ached. Muscles in my neck tightened up and became painful etc. etc. I had to go back on antibiotics. Today, May 16, I am finally getting some energy and strength back and hope for the future.

The U.S. Center for Disease Control recommends treating Lyme Disease for only two our three weeks, saying there in no benefit from longer treatments. The State of Texas persecutes Lyme disease literate doctors, forcing these doctors to abandon those of us that are ill with Borrelosis. There are thousands of us, and we all have similar stories. If I do not have access to antibiotics, my life if pure hell. There are very few doctors that will treat us, and many of the Lyme Disease Doctors have been put out of business. Who did it? Big insurance companies and the government are trying to save money. Medicare does not cover my costs.  Instead of treating us with low cost antibiotics, now they must treat all of our symptoms and perform unnecessary surgery, wasting money and forcing us to suffer needlessly. In Africa and much of Europe we could get help, but not in the USA.

For more information, read up on Relapsing fever, a disease similar to Lyme disease; search online for Lyme disease cysts, and search for Boroson and Boroson of Norway. Then you will get the real truth on Lyme Disease.

If you have Borrelosis, Zithromax with Minicycclene works for me.  I trust that God will help you.  Your government won't help..
