I’ve just visited my mother, when I went to a shop in the neighbourhood of my mother’s house. (I wanted to buy a gift for her.) It was a local supermarket where they were selling out everything. There were hardly any product on the shelves. I bought a box of chocolate and a bottle of vine for mother and went to the pay desk when I noticed a shelf with weird toys. They had no boxes and no information about the manufacturer. I was sure they were handmade things, clowns, old kings, witches and other oddities. I chose the strangest one. He’s a Humpty Dumpty Harlequin and definitely not a fashion doll. He looks very artistic and unique. I asked the shop assistant where are these toys from but she didn’t know. The strange doll is a mystery. I took him home.

Éppen meglátogattam anyukámat, amikor betértem egy boltba a lakása környékén. (Ajándékot szerettem volna venni anyának.) Egy helyi szupermarket volt, ahol épp végkiárusítást tartottak, alig néhány termék árválkodott a polcokon. Vettem egy doboz csokit és egy üveg bort és mentem a pénztárhoz, amikor észrevettem egy polcot bizarr játékokkal. Nem volt dobozuk, és semmi információ rajtuk a gyártóról. Biztos voltam benne, hogy kézműves tárgyak, bohócok, öreg királyok, boszorkányok és egyéb furcsaságok. Kiválasztottam a legfurábbat, egy Humpty Dumpty Harlequint – aki határozottan nem divatbaba. Nagyon művészi és egyedi. Kérdeztem az eladótól, honnan vannak ezek a játékok, de nem tudta. A különös baba egy rejtély. Hazavittem őt.

I looked at the clown and I thought he couldn’t stay alone. He needs a girlfriend. And I found Courtly Jester the cheeky clown girl from Ever After High. She is the daughter of Joker but not Batman’s nemezis. Her father is the Joker from the card games, just like the Queen of Hearts. She is crazy enough for the Humpty Dumpty Harlequin.

Néztem a bohócot, és arra gondoltam, nem maradhat egyedül, szüksége van egy barátnőre. És megtaláltam Courtly Jestert, a pimasz bohóclányt az Ever After High-ból. Ő Joker lánya, de nem Batman ősellenségéé, hanem Jokeré a kártyajátékból; akárcsak a Szívkirálynő. Ez a Courtly lány elég őrült a Humpty Dumpty Harlequinhez.

Harlequin’s face is quite expressive and friendly. I dont know what kind of material they used for the head, maybe a sort of plastic, it’s light and hollow. The whole head is painted. His clothes were sewed very nicely but under the coat his torso was made of extruded polystyrene. What a cheap choice! He got wires in his arms and legs so they can be moved.

Harlequin arca meglehetősen kifejező és barátságos. Nem tudom, milyen anyagot használhattak a fejéhez, talán valamiféle műanyagot. Könnyű és üreges. Az egész fejet kifestették. A ruháit elég igényesen varrták meg, de a kabát alatt a torzója hungarocellből van. Micsoda olcsó megoldás! A karjaiba és a lábaiba drótokat kapott, így azok mozgathatók.

Courtly Jester is a mischief-maker. She smiles but her eyes are evil a bit. I thought she has got short hair but she has a ponytail behind her clown collar. She has dark purple hands (‘gloves’) and purple legs (‘stockings’) with different colours. Usually I don’t like this but she looks so organic. The coloured hands and legs match the gaudy and mad clown identity. Extraordinarily, I won’t removed her plastic accessories, Courtly is perfect with her costume.

Courtley Jester egy bajkeverő. Mosolyog, de a tekintete egy cseppet gonosz. Azt hittem, rövid haja van, de nem: hátul lófarkat visel a bohócgallér mögött. Sötétlila kezei vannak („kesztyűk”), és eltérő lila színű lábai („harisnya”). Általában nem szeretem ezt, de ő valahogy olyan egységesen néz ki így. A színes kezek és lábak illenek a tarka és őrült bohóc identitáshoz. Kivételesen nem fogom megszabadítani a műanyag kiegészítőitől, Courtly tökéletes a kosztümjében.
