Vocation Groups

Vocation Groups

What are Vocation Groups?

Vocation Groups are monthly, industry-specific communities that bring together Christians seeking to faithfully live out the gospel in their work. These groups are designed to connect you with peers in your industry, equip you with a robust theology of vocation, and mobilize you to pursue cultural renewal in your field.

For the 2025–2026 pilot year, we’re launching four Vocation Groups in: Finance, Legal, Technology, and the Arts. Groups will meet monthly from September to May. The cost is $75 for the season, covering materials and refreshments. Registration is now closed. If you’d like to be considered for the waitlist or receive updates for next year’s cohort, please join our interest list below.

Why Vocation Groups Matter

The Vocation Group Framework

Image

Equip

We want to help you develop a theological vision for your work.
Each group provides tools and frameworks to help you:

  • See your industry through the lens of the biblical story (Creation, Fall, Redemption, Restoration)
  • Reflect theologically on the structure and direction of your vocation
  • Find renewed purpose and encouragement in your daily work

Connect

You're not alone. Vocation Groups are a space to:

  • Build relationships with others who understand the challenges of your field
  • Share burdens and pray together
  • Cultivate a community marked by authenticity, vulnerability, and gospel-shaped living
  • Engage in informal mentoring and professional support

Mobilize

Faith at work isn’t theoretical. Each group will engage in practices and conversations that:

  • Reimagine how their industry might be renewed in light of the gospel
  • Encourage participants to live as agents of change within their workplaces and cities
  • Surface creative ideas, ventures, or cultural artifacts that reflect Kingdom values

The Unique Vocation Group Experience

Vocation Groups bring together five essential elements in one intentional community—something you won’t find anywhere else. While other ministries may offer one or two of these components, the true power of Vocation Groups lies in how they weave all five together into a rich, transformative journey.

We begin each gathering with a simple, engaging activity that helps participants relax, share their stories, and build trust—laying the relational foundation for deeper conversations.

A guided time to step back and look at our industries through the gospel story—seeing their created goodness, naming their brokenness, and imagining how God might bring renewal through us.

A practical action step you commit to between meetings—turning insight into intentional practice so your faith actively shapes your daily work.

Industry-specific conversations where members process what they’ve learned, share real-world experiences, and gain wisdom from peers who understand their unique challenges and opportunities.

Participants share workplace opportunities and challenges, then pray in triads—lifting up one another’s work and fostering encouragement and accountability.

Dates & Commitment

This year’s Vocation Groups season begins with Launch Night on Tuesday, September 23 at the W83 Ministry Center—a time to gather all participants, cast vision, and spark cross-industry connections. Over the next eight months, we’ll explore how the gospel shapes our work and how God might use us for renewal in our fields. More than just meetings, this is an intentional community rooted in prayer, Scripture, and action—equipping you to live faithfully where God has placed you.

ImageEach group meets once a month from September through May (with a break in December) for a total of 8 sessions.  Meetings are 2 hours in the evening at W83 Ministry Center.

ImageGroups are organized by industry—Finance, Legal, Tech, and the Arts—so you connect with peers who understand your world and its unique opportunities and challenges.

ImageThrough Scripture, discussion, and prayer, you’ll develop a gospel-centered vision for your work and take tangible steps toward living it out.

ImageWe ask participants to attend all sessions, prepare 1-2 hours between and after meetings, and engage fully—building trust, deepening relationships, and pursuing God’s mission together.

FAQ

Vocation Groups are open to any adult currently working in—or actively pursuing—a career in the group’s specific industry. If you are in a season of exploration, transition or retirement and not actively working in the field, this group won’t be the right fit at this time, and we’d be glad to recommend other opportunities. Whether you’re just starting out or decades into your career, you’re welcome to apply. Redeemer congregants will have priority in registration, but we also warmly welcome participants from across the city as space allows.

We’re starting with a small number of pilot groups this year, but that’s just the beginning. If your industry isn’t listed, we still encourage you to apply and note your field of work. Each spring, we host listening sessions to help identify new industries for future groups. Your interest helps guide these decisions. You may be placed in a related group—or even invited to help pioneer a new one. You can also fill out our interest form to stay connected.

Groups meet once a month from September through May (with a break in December) for a total of 8 sessions. The program begins with a Launch Night on September 23 and concludes with a celebration on May 12. Meetings are typically 2 hours in the evening. We ask participants to make every effort to attend all sessions and complete about 2 hours of light preparation—such as short readings, reflection questions, or practical exercises—before each meeting. This rhythm is essential for building trust, deepening relationships, and creating a meaningful shared experience.

A Vocation Group gathering is designed to connect, equip, and mobilize participants in their faith and work. Each meeting begins with relational connection and check-ins, then moves into theological equipping through a curated curriculum designed to develop a gospel-centered vision for work. This is followed by industry-specific discussion around the monthly theme, where participants share real challenges and opportunities from their field, pray for one another, and consider practical next steps. Some months may also feature guest speakers or practitioners offering insights from their own vocational experience.

It’s both—and more. Vocation Groups explore Scripture in the context of your work, helping you reflect on how faith shapes your professional life. Together, you’ll wrestle with real-world challenges, learn from peers, pray through your work, and grow in your calling. It’s spiritual formation with your workplace in mind.

Both Vocation Groups and Community Groups build relationships, encourage spiritual growth, and foster prayer—but their focus is different.

Community Groups bring together people from various life stages and industries to grow in faith and support one another in all areas of life.

Vocation Groups gather people in the same or related industries to connect with peers who share their professional context, equip one another with biblical wisdom and practical tools for their work, and mobilize together for gospel-shaped impact in their field.
