Tracy Batchelor, MD, MPH, neurologist-in-chief and chair of the Department of Neurology, will serve as the principal investigator leading a multidisciplinary, multi-institutional team of investigators in the new Glioblastoma Therapeutics Network (GTN), a research program supported by a $6.2 million research grant from the National Cancer Institute (NCI).

The GTN team comprises investigators from Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Stanford University. The program will be based in the Brigham’s Department of Neurology. This grant will fund three projects examining targeted therapies for treating glioblastoma, the most common and most aggressive form of brain cancer.

More broadly at the Brigham, Batchelor’s research focuses on novel targeted therapies for brain cancers.

The NCI leads, conducts and supports cancer research across the nation to advance scientific knowledge and help all people live longer, healthier lives.
