Mom is back in town!

My Mom has been doing quite a bit of traveling this month.  First she came to Arizona to help me with Creed and Luci, then she attended a wedding for her nephew in Colorado,  next stop, Alabama, to visit her oldest daughter. Plus her bonus trip inside a trip, in which her flight to and from Alabama has a layover here in Phoenix.   Meaning we get to see her for a couple hours today and on Monday!

So what did we do for those few short hours? Picnic at the park of course!

The park we were at was close to the air port, and the planes flew right over our heads as they prepared to land. My Mom got Creed a mini Southwest air plane toy, and when a Southwest plane flew over head Creed would look up and say “same”.

Baby Luci

Baby Luci is here! and has been for two weeks.  It’s amazing how much change takes place in two weeks…and when I look at Creed I just cant believe he was ever a baby.   Here are a few pictures and some info about little Luci.

2 days, 18 days old

Born September 24th at 4:47 pm.  Which was the day my midwife Shell guessed she would be born.   She came so fast Mani (my other midwife) didn’t make it in time, and yes we still paid the midwife. Devin caught Luci as she slipped out, my mom stayed relativity calm as this was happening, Creed was eating scrambled eggs, my mother-in-law missed the whole thing by two minutes, and I was relived it was over so fast.

She weighed 7 lb 4 oz, 20 1/4″ long (the average size for a baby) but she is so very tiny.  No fat, lean muscle, and just plain skinny with huge feet.  She looked exactly like Creed when he was born, but is now starting to look more like Devin.   She is an angel baby, peaceful, quiet, happy, and has a beautiful smile…all things she must have inherited from me!

Creed is the best brother.  I was worried he might get jealous of Luci, but he has no ill feelings toward her.  Every morning he comes into our room, finds Luci, gives her a kiss or pat on the head, and says “Hi Luce” in the sweetest voice ever.   Devin let him hold the bottle and feed her one night while I was away and he was so happy and proud to be a big brother.  I can see he loves her.  It is exciting to see our family grow!
