p.s. i'm blonde

I decided that after years of wanting to go blonde that I should finally just do it! And summertime is the perfect time to be blonde! So I called up Colette and she came over and got to work on my hair.
Here's the process:

Colette separates the hair into strips, and every other strip is bleached and put into foil to process.

Brittany wanted to try doing a foil, too.

I look good in foil ;)

After she bleached the hair, she put toner into the hair to give it a little color. Then she went through my entire head of hair and took the leftover brown strips and bleached them and put a lesser toner on those pieces, leaving them lighter blonde than the first set. As you can see, there are two tones of blonde, along with a little bit of my natural brown left.  The whole process, including the final haircut, took about 7 hours! But it was worth it! I love being blonde.  It's true what they say: Blondes really do have more fun!

the cave

Image
This week Kimmy and I went to check out a sweet little cave that is at the top of a short hike up a small mountain in Springville, UT.  The hike is nice and pretty easy.  The view from the top is beautiful!  At the end of the hike you find a big fire pit made of large rocks, and a small cave.  As you can see in some of the videos, as we were leaving the cave area, we had a nice little smelly surprise.

easy oreo cupcakes

So I spotted some packaged Oreo flavored icing at Winco yesterday and decided to try it out.  I made devil's food cupcakes from a Pillsbury boxed cake mix.  Then I topped the cupcakes with the Oreo icing.  That fun texture comes from a fancy decorating tip that I stuck on the tube of icing. To be honest, the icing looks fun but seriously lacks in deliciousness.  But the cake was great!  Next time I'll try to make some homemade Oreo frosting :)

party

So Brittany and Shannon's birthday party went really well and it was lots of fun! We danced, played a little limbo, and ate some pizookies! Happy Birthday Brittany and Shannon!

smart cookie

So there's this little place in American Fork, UT called Smart Cookie. One word: YUM!!!

Smart cookie is probably one of my favorite places to go for dessert.  Walk in, smell all kinds of deliciousness floating around in the air, pick out two soft and delicious cookies from a variety of flavors, and choose your ice cream.  The Smart Cookie girls proceed to cram two scoops of ice cream between your cookies of choice and hand it over, all for a total of $2.75.  Go try it out! http://www.smartcookiecompany.com/index.php

I got to go there last night for a girl's night out with Shannon and Brittany! We had lots of fun, as you can see from our pictures:
