And it\u2019s hard to really name it, to put it into words. It\u2019s this feeling that shows up\u2026<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&#8211; The quiet fatigue after holding everything together.<br \/>&#8211; The loneliness that creeps in.<br \/>&#8211; The pressure to be fine.<br \/>\u2026the tears falling quietly under the shower.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-style: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; background-color: var(--ast-global-color-5);\">How about we stop for a second and allow us to show more self-compassion, awareness and kindness when it comes ourselves!? T<\/span><span style=\"font-style: inherit; color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif;\">hat is something I really paid attention to this month\u2026and I named it \u201cSoften\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em>Instead of<\/em> <br \/>\u201cYou should be handling this better.\u201d<br \/>\u201cJust keep going.\u201d<br \/><em>I told myself<\/em><br \/>\u201cIt\u2019s been a lot.\u201d<br \/>\u201cIt makes sense you feel this way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Before,<\/em> when I needed space, I pushed through. After all, I\u2019m new here. I want and need to meet people, build connections. But I am also an introvert. Showing up all the time (at home and outside) drained me. I need more quiet and time with myself.<\/p>\n<p><em>Now,<\/em> I take a step back (literally and figuratively)\u00a0and remind myself it&#8217;s ok to not be at that many events, and that I can step away at home, too. \u00a0<br \/>I am still showing up but with more intention.<\/p>\n<p>When my body whispered <em>\u201cit\u2019s enough\u201d<\/em>, I at times ignored it because the thoughts that &#8220;I have to show up&#8221; or \u201cIf not me, then who?\u201d popped up. <span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><em>This month,<\/em> I listened sooner.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Moved more gently.<\/p>\n<p><b>Small changes, big impact. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>I know from myself, though, how easy it is to say that we need to become more aware of ourselves and to notice when something feels off. But life happens, and to keep pushing and ignoring it at times just feels easier.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>But, as you read this I am asking you\u2026softly, gently:<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Where are your shoulders?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Do you clench your jaw?<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Is your breathing forced or shallow?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>And what words are you using towards yourself?<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Are there any areas you can soften into right now, this moment\u2026 any areas you feel tension and you can release into? Don\u2019t skip over, even the smallest adjustment can have big impact!<\/p>\n<p>You might remember that my word for 2026 is \u201crelease\u201d and \u201csoften\u201d will play a big part in releasing. I can\u2019t release if I hold tight and don\u2019t become \u201csofter\u201d towards myself.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><i>I know, I know we are strong women, we hold it all together, we keep going and softening can easily feel like weakness. <br \/><\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">BUT what if we looked at it differently?<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are strong&#8230;we carry a lot..we do a lot&#8230;and we\u2019re not giving up that strength. But when we gently soften here and there we\u2019re easing the pressure we place on ourselves.<br \/>Softening helps to unclench the body, the mind and the soul to <em><strong>create space to show up more grounded, taller, stronger from within.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>February is almost behind us, but \u201csoftening\u201d isn\u2019t.
