Santa Fe - Lund Reunion 2012

For our Lund family reunion this year we met up in Santa Fe.  Or just outside.  We rented a cabin in the mountains there and it was so nice to just relax.  The temperature was quite a change from what we left at home which was a nice thing too.  It was probably only about 50-60 degrees there the whole time.  And we had a nice rain storm or 2, no cell service and beautiful scenery.

We learned how to play Bocce Ball and Ladder BallImage

We even put Andrew to work chasing the ball around and helping Uncle Seth and his team out.

Played in some bubbles which is always exciting.

Things were going great until the kiddo got sick and puked all over so I kind of spent the rest of the time cleaning up and trying to steer clear of Genevieve and pretty much anyone else.  That was not so much fun!

Few Random Pics

When it gets so hot we have to find ways to entertain ourselves while staying cool.  Andrew loves playing in the water outside and we got this fun little Pirate Ship that he loves playing in.  Pardon our seriously white trash look here in the swim diaper and jammie shirt.

So when I put him to bed he was not facing this way.  I watched him turn in circles in his sleep.  Cracked me up.

Happy 2 1/2 Birthday to Andrew!

With Andrew's birthday being right at Christmas we decided we are going to try and celebrate his birthday at the half mark to allow him to actually have a party and friends that can come and warm weather.  This year we had an "Under the Sea" birthday.  We had all different stations of water fun set up for all the kids to run around in and stay cool in the warm weather.

The slip n'slide was a big hit as you can see.

Image I think Andrew thought it was a drinking fountain rather than something fun to play in lol.Image Image Image Image Some random party shots.....Image Image And the yummy chocolate orange cupcakes with the party colors.  I think you will see that the kids absolutely loved them.  Image Image Image Image Image
The presents....and some help from friends.
Image Image Image All in all I think it was a successful party and the kiddos had a fun time.  Happy 2 1/2 Birthday AK!!

First Trip to the Beach

James and I have been in Austin for 9 years and never once have made it to the beach. it seems like something always comes up and makes it impossible for us to make it. So for Mother's Day this year I decided that was what I wanted. We drove down over Memorial Day weekend to Corpus Christi and spent a long weekend there. It was so much fun and relaxing to just have absolutely nothing scheduled or required and to just do what we wanted to do. The first night we got there we drove down to a little cove off Mustang Island and introduced Andrew to the ocean. Image As you can see he wasn't so keen on it at first. He started to warm up to it though.
The wet sand was a bit much for him at first. Image
Image How could I not love this little guy?Image Image Image
He got really excited when this helicopter flew over pretty low and he was able to hear it.  He heard it way before we could even see it and kept pointing.  This kid has radar hearing apparently.Image Image
Finding shells and seeing fish jump out of the water was also a pretty cool thing once the sand stopped scaring him.

Fun with Bubbles

This was one of the funniest things - we are trying to work on potty training, which is totally not going well still but one day we were trying to do a number 2 in the potty and this is how I came in to find Andrew.....it totally cracked me up. Not the greatest shot but you get the idea.Image And then some fun with bubbles....it never gets old. I love how the simple things entertain Andrew and he loves to chase these around. Easter Sunday

We spent our Easter Sunday dinner with a couple of friends from church this year. The Thompson family was awesome and hosted dinner for us and also my friend Julie and her 2 daughters. Dana and Jason have 2 adorable twin boys about Andrew's age so he had a blast being around other kiddos. Here is the yummy spread Dana prepared. Image All of the kiddos "eating" dinner. (There is a trampoline outside which was way more interesting than sitting still to eat) Image Image Andrew found the car collection that Arlo and Josiah have and was quite content to play with those the whole time. Image And Dana even got cute little bunny ear headbands made with the kiddos so they could wear those on the egg hunt. The kids all looked adorable. Image Image I swear I will get these all caught up for my own records now that it is October when I'm posting these. :-)
