Spring Break

For spring break we went down to Tucson, AZ. to see Kelly and fam. (Gheen's bro.) We had the best time! They are the perfect hosts and we would recommend staying with them even if your not related ha-ha!. (They may have something to say about this.)

Cal's birthday!

It's Calvin's birthday today!! He is eight years old and will be getting baptized April 12!! Yea, I love Cali. He is such a fun loving person. Always up for any adventure and always up for a hug. He loves to be outside and would rather play catch than play video games anyday. His favorite food is candy. He loves to swim and do gymnastics and hike and ski. He's incredibly sweet too, (must be from all the candy.)

Who gets to see a beautiful picture of their insides? Who, I ask?? Simon, that's who! Simon had his appendix out the beginning of Feb. and is doing great. Aren't these pictures great? The first group are of the appendix, it was all sticky with infection and it was wrapped up on itself. The pool of filth is actually a pool of filth. That's what was dripping from the infected appendix -gross- no wonder he was writhing in pain. It's quite long compared to other peoples, I guess. The next group of pictures are of his kidneys, look how beautiful they are, clear and perfect. You can see the gall bladder peaking out from under the kidney on the picture on the top left. And then his appendix all by itself. They are usually straight, as well as not that long. He was a real trooper.

Exciting, I love this stuff.

It's Play Time!

Okay, the play starts FRIDAY!! Yep, this Friday March 7th. It runs Friday, Sat., Mon. for three weeks. There are also two matinees (15 & 22). I am so excited. Come and see it if you can! Wish me luck.

We've had some plumbing issues as of late and Gheen decided to save us a few $ and fix it himself. No problem. There were several separate issues. The bath tub leaked at the on-valve, when turned on there was very little water coming out of the kitchen and bathroom faucets, under the kitchen sink were 4 leaks, and our kitchen ceiling was soft right under where the bathtub was leaking...lovely. To make a long story short everything is fixed, some by Gheen and some by Hartman Plumbing (I would highly recommend this guy). And if you ever have build up in your faucets that looks like white crumbly putty you should have the dip tubes in your water heater looked at. Maybe you will find, like we did, that only 2 inches is left of them when they are supposed to be 4 feet! I guess they disintegrate after time, who knew.

more ski fun

Here are some more fun ski pictures. We are really having a great time this winter with all the snow. Skiing makes up for all the shoveling we have to do with this crazy driveway. This ski day we went with the McDonald's, so fun. Afterwards we got stuck at Alta for 2 hours as the traffic off the mountain was at a dead halt. We went in the lodge and played 2 truths and a lie and ate fries with hot chocolate. Liese's dad won the game. He's had a pretty interesting life so we couldn't tell which were the lies, oh well.

On Golden Pond

After a 14 year break from anything theatrical, that is official theatrical, I will attempt to drum up some acting ability and be in a play. Yep, I have auditioned and it appears the directors think I can pull it off. The play is On Golden Pond and the part is Chelsea (Jane Fonda played it in the movie). Frankly, I couldn't be more excited! Clear your calendars for March and I will let you know the official dates soon. The last time I was in a play, All My Sons at Ricks College, Gheen and I had been married just a year and we found out I was pregnant.. with Isaac..that was 1994. Crazy.
