Interesting.....

So, as much as it pains me to admit it, I am the teeniest bit superstitious. Not hard core, but just the occasional occurance. Anyhoo, I recently joined a forum with all women who are also due in January 2012 and it is INSANE how many of them already know what they are having!! I am waiting until 20 weeks, so I still have a month to go.. Blah!!!! Even though it has only predicted one of my pregnancies correctly in the past, I still thought I'd go ahead and see what the Chinese gender prediction chart thought I was having. It's a fairly quick thing to do except the website I went to this time had something I'd never seen before...

Hmmm, I mean it's just your age cross referenced with the month you conceived, are instructions really needed for that? I clicked on them and found out that they were. Hmmmm, turns out it's your Chinese lunar age cross referenced with the Chinese lunar month you conceived. Turns out that the Chinese consider me a year older than I am and they don't divide their months like we do.... Also turns out that the chart was right with both my previous pregnancies... Did I mention that I can be superstitious? Even when I know intellectually that a gender prediction chart is ridiculous, I can't help but check it and wonder if maybe it will be right a third time. (the odds are 50/50 anyway, but I still can't help it) So anyhoo, just thought I'd let you know that the Chinese moon people believe I'm having a girl. So there you go :)

4th of July

Late enough for ya? I just got a chance to hook up the camera, so I'm catching up on old pictures :) Our church puts on a celebration on the 4th of July and the kids had a great time playing on the bounce houses they rented~

Micah's Party

To celebrate Micah's 3rd birthday, we had a Mickey Mouse Breakfast! I wish I had pictures of the Mickey scones, but I seem to have forgotten to take a lot of pictures I normally would of the decor/ food at the party... oh well!

Because I'm crazy, I decided to make each kid a set of Mickey or Minnie ears to wear at the party...the guests were all so cute!

Micah's Birthday Invite

The Boy is 3

Three years ago, this little boy was born with chop style sideburns and an insane ability to sleep through everything... including feedings.


This last Saturday, that little boy turned three years old and I'm not sure how exactly that happened so quickly~

Let's see.... Micah as a three year old is~

- Still a really sweet and thoughtful little guy

- A bit unpredictable when is comes to meltdowns, but he has gotten WAY better about this in the past couple of weeks

- Really into Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Toy Story 3 and Cars

- Very good at puzzles and is completing puzzles rated ages 5+ by himself

- Likes to answer "yes yes" in quick succession when asked a question

- Able to count to 16 (random, I know :P) in English and 10 in Spanish

- Loves to sing, particularly the ABC song and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

- Adores his cousins and has a crush on a whole family of girls (3) from our church :)

- Really polite and constantly says please, thank you and may I

We love our little man so much and he is a constant source of joy in our lives.... Happy Birthday Bubba!!

Long Time Coming

A good friend of mine has 3 great little girls (of whom Micah is a major fan). She is preggers with #4 and we were all thrilled to find out that it is a BOY! Woo hoo! My mom and I decided to throw her a shower to help her go blue (couldn't have the poor kid running around in pink all the time, now could we?) and it was a lot of fun.... I just wish I had pics of all the cute things at the shower :P Anyhoo, She is doing the nursery in a cowboy theme so I decided to put my sewing skills (such as they are) to use in making her gift. I made a bib~

The robe was from a pattern I purchased at MADE. If you like to craft (especially sew) then Dana's blog, MADE, is AWESOME. She gives tons of free tutorials and patterns and some that she sells as well. Anyhoo, I'm really happy with how everything turned out and I can't wait to meet the little buckaroo!

Micah's birthday party is coming up this weekend, so the blog may be a bit sparse this week as I finish up everything for my soon to be 3 yr old. I'm waiting on some pics I took on a borrowed camera so that I can show you my latest bout of craftiness... As soon as I get them,I'll slap them up here!

My Food Baby

I hit 12 weeks in my pregnancy this past Friday and I am relieved that I am starting to get a bit of a baby bump..... It's nice to actually start looking pregnant :) Of course, how pregnant I look depends greatly on the time of day... aka, how much I've eaten. For example, here is Abby in the morning, pre breakfast~

Besides the change in lighting and the obvious total exhaustion (yes, at 8:30), you'll notice that there is an ever so slight (massive) change in the measurements of my abdomen. Whoa baby :)
